I don't really amke resolutions this time of year... But then again I suppose I do in my own way.
Each year this time I set aside a little time for myself. Between Christmas and New Years and sometimes even into the next weeks it is time to draw and visualize some dreams and ideas.
It has taken many forms in the past.
Last year I wrote and illustrated a series of articles (just for fun) for a train magazine called AWNUTS (Always Whimsical, Not Usually to Scale) www.awnuts.com Plans for Giggle Ridge phase II were also started in this period.
The year before was spent drawing the final plans for Giggle Ridge.
In years past I have dreamed up plans for future houses (most not built) and series of drawings, whatever personal project I have put off all year. It is a time I take off from regular work and instead draw the stuff of dreams, straight from the heart. I explore new art mediums and new ideas.
I find the time is very worthwhile. It recharges my creative energy.
I recommend a little times spent this way for everyone.
So starting tonight, I clean off my drawing desk and cork boards and start the stuff of dreams!
Happy New Year!

Dan, Thanks for posting your trains. I like miniatures and built a three story miniature house from a kit. And built the furniture from wood kits. I always wanted one as a kid. Now I get to be a kid that can afford it. Glue guns are great and quicker then glue drying. Just painful. Don't ask me how I know.
Adrienne, If you make it to Ohio next year I will have to take you to The Wilds. And from your pictures it looks like I will need a bumper sticker "We brake for barns". I think you will like the area. I enjoy your pictures, Debbie
