Has anyone else had a problem with the search?
I remember a thread a couple months or so ago about Penguins Logos. Think it mentioned a Steeler Logo too but I'm not sure. I hit search and didn't find it. I remembered the thread was from someone in Grampian, PA, so I hit the member database and found their name. Search feature will only allow us to search by member # instead of name like it used to be. Steve told me to type the name in the search field. nothing. So, just for curiosity, I typed my name in the search field to find all the posts I have done. 6. It's only showing posts from May and October. Is there something wrong with the database search or what?
And another point: The search allows us to search by member #, can we either add search by name like we used to have or add member numbers to the member database page?

I've also been frustrated by the new search. I don't like having to use the member number either.
To answer your question about only getting 6 hits on your name, it's because you used Kissymatina for your search. Since the search is using the BODY of the message, it only picked up instances where someone actually mentioned your name in the message. If you type in Chris King (which occurs in your signature line), you will get over 100 matches.

Steve asked for feedback on his new system when he put it in and got some, but it wasn't what he wanted to hear. In my inimmitable fashion I believe I ****ed him off instead of delivering some constructive criticism - which was to get the old system back. Well, he makes sure we know it's HIS web site and if we don't like it -- well, we can act like Lenny and/or lump it. "Oh, Steve - God, the new system is GREAT! So easy to maneuver around, and find things - the page loads faster than ever, the back button works so nicely now! Doesn't even take 3 times as long -- Thanks for the Improvement!!! My check is in the mail"
Yes, it's tough to find things, but they are here.

I agree Chris. Usually all I can remember is that there was a certain discussion and that a certain person participated. I sure as heck can't remember that person's number. What I do is go scrolling down thje current posts hoping to find somethiong that they have initiated and can then get their number. Time consuming and not always practical.

Chris as far as the thread about the Pittsburgh logos goes. Someone asked for them and I provided a link for them. Then an intelligence-challenged VISITOR to this site got all upset and warned everybody that Letterville was going to be closed down becuase of a link! ( I hope he got to Turkey Lurkey, and Henny Penny in time!). I e-mailed Barb, and she wisely deleted the string before it got out of hand. So that is why you can't find that one.
Oh and by the way, I do not like the new search as well as the last one, but I'm still here everyday!
P.S. if you need the link to the sports logo site e-mail me and I'll get it to you.
