It's a shame when a man creates a nice sign, shows you how he did it, and still can't even enter it in the SOTM. Maybe if we can get enough people to vote for it we can FORCE Mr. Fair to award himself the first SOTM of 2002.
Your vote counts (unless maybe if your in Florida ... haha)
(vote 1) - yay

Without a doubt...this one deserves that award. Sorry, Katie & Sally, but this one time, your usual impeccable judgement has to be overruled.

2 more votes from our house! We all win here. In addition to seeing a well designed sign, we've learned the how and why of it's creation. It don't get much better than that. Thanks for all you do for Letterville Mark.

hey, thanks folks for the honor!!! (but it ain't gonna work.) heeheeheehee
one rule i set for myself back when i started SOTM in 1996 was that i would never award myself this award, but you guys have just given me an idea!
how about this... each month a different Letterhead (whom i will select)will decide SOTM(send entry photos to me and in turn i will send 3 photos to that month's "judge". the judge selects one, then i will notify the winner by mail asking for more details on the design and production.(the photos i send to the judge will have no name attached to it so the said judge will be impartial and vote for the one that has the most "eye appeal"
what do you think? if you would like to be a judge, e-mail me and let me know.
hey thanks mark matyjakowski, after seeing your work and others who have posted above, i find your compliments very flattering.
and katie, your vote counts too, because you are a letterhead!

Well I was going to say yes to another vote for Mark, but looks like he answered. Anyhow I think it is a Dynamite sign! As far as the idea about selecting another judge, I think that would be great!

I'm voting for Mark's sign no matter what the 'rules' are. Besides, I know too many people from Letterville that aren't usually that concerned with rules and laws and all that nonsense.
And, I think we should let the Floridians vote, just don't let them count the votes.

You could put a disclaimer on the page and say we made you do it - that this was a special award awarded by your friends and admirers.
A good and deserving sign is a good and deserving sign.
Go for it!

OK, how'z about if we get someone else to do the write up and create the page. Seems it might not be fair (no pun intended) to take it over (just the once) and make Mark do the work. Kinda like stealing someones car then charging them for any maintenance.

So lets steal his car, and send him a bill, I'm up fer that....!!
My personal opinion is, I'm NOT voting for this sign because Mark is a friend (which he is, or because of any "How-To' he wrote, or any other number of "Bubbly" reasons we can all name here....
I AM voting for this sign because,.... It stands on it's own merit, that of good layout, design, composition/continuity, color combination, and most of all........
It Does What A Sign is supposed to do..... Communicate in a Very Ledgable, Clear, and Eye Pleasing manner....!! I would know what this sign was selling from a block away, and if I were looking for this particular type of business, I wouldn't be driving down the street rubber-necking and creating a hazard trying to find it
I would vote for this sign, no matter who painted it !!
