Wow! Thanks for the heads-up Si.

I downloaded the patch ... and have finger crossed that no viruses are coming my way.

Regards,

Jim

and this is just 1 of the problems you will find in XP.......best not to upgrade till its been out a year at least....then it might have compatability issues and other bugs worked out.

I bought XP and tried loading it on three
different machines. It kept coming up with
different glitches that prevented it from
installing. I even went as far as completely
reformating a hard drive but still couldn't
install Windows XP. After I finally got
tired of pulling my hair, swearing and stomping,
I gave up and decided to be content with
Windows 98. I don't recommend XP as an upgrade.
If you are determined to have XP, I have mine
for sale. Anyone want to buy my XP?

Something else to consider: I have been told by Gerber tech that you cannot use XP with their programs yet. I also have heard that the same is true of other CAD-CAM programs. They say they are waiting until XP is fully debugged before addressing compatibility. That usually takes 6 to 9 months for reactions from users are incorporated into the upgrades.

Wow,
The Fox News story makes me wonder why they release this new OS BEFORE it's been debugged. I guess we are the guinnie pigs. They should PAY us to use it for a year.
