I just wanted to take the time to wish everyone a heartfelt Merry Christmas.
This year, we decided to do something a little different, and have surprised our kids (13&11) with a Ski trip to Panorama, BC. We are going with our good friends, who have children the same ages as ours (our kids have been best friends their whole lives). We bought them each a pair of ski goggles, and I made them each a special card, explaining what their gift was this year. We let them open them last night, and the look on their faces was worth the trip right there!
We live in the bald-headed prairies, in the middle of Canada, and are driving to the Rocky Mountains (very close to Banff, for those of you that were at the meet in 98). We are staying in a condo right on the hill, complete with fireplace and hottub right outside. Santa will be coming over the hill in his sleigh on Christmas eve.
Although we are not spending Christmas with our extended families this year, I am looking forward to just being with the kids. I feel so blessed that we are able to do this before they grow up, and thankful that we have our health and each other.
Any body else care to share their Christmas plans?
Whatever you do, I wish you peace, love, and all the very best for the New Year.

Hi Suelynn.. MANY years ago we did a similar thing with our best friends and our kids. In fact it involved 3 couples. We booked a cabin at a ski resort and spent a week skiing and having fun. It was one of the most enjoyable Christmases we ever had.
I hope you and your family have just as much fun!

Hmmm... an aussie christmas.. We did the family thing today, with grandparents, etc.. But on christmas day? Blow up the inflatable pool, rest back in that with crackers, dip, kabana, and a few other choice delicasies.. Snack throughout the day... I hope to talk mum into some seafood for lunch.. but I don't know if that'll happen *grin* Yes.. just a back yard aussie christmas. Will be fun.
Hope you all have a great chrissie!

Dana and I flew to Minneapolis/St. Paul this week and will fly home to Western New York on Christmas day.
We are enjoying the hospitality of the coolest in-laws you could ever want to have. Lots of people to see and things to do. This is a beautiful part of our great country. I sure wouldn't mind coming here more often.
I thank and praise Tte Lord Jesus for being able to share this time with loving family and friends. I wish you all very merry Christmas holiday!
Have a great one!

My brother is driving in from Little Rock, Arkansas tomorrow night. Saturday night we begin our celebration with my immediate family, (just have brothers and one sister left). All of their children and their kids will be at my house. We are having pizza since we know we will be eating rich Christmas fare throughout the holidays. Every Christmas Eve, we follow a tradition started by my grandparents when we were children. We draw names every year and exchange gifts after a big Christmas supper. My Daddy was the oldest of 10 children and I have 22 first cousins. The McKenzie family is very large family. On Christmas day we go to my daughter's home to exchange our gifts and see what Santa bought Blake (4) and Andrew (2). Then we go to Roger's Mother's for Christmas dinner and exchange gifts there too! I wish all who are traveling a safe and wonderful Holiday! May the New Year bring each of you peace and prosperity!

Gonna sit by the old firebox and watch the kids open presents, eat ham and 20 other courses, try out the new ballistics chronometer they think I don't know about(one of my catalogs had a marker in it. Not mine.), bundle her up and take Lyn for a ride down the valley and thank God I made it through another one.
