Today was a great day. I went to the shop, did a few Logos...mailed em, recieved some checks in the mail..it started snowing (It's STILL snowing!) my son Caleb and I played Hockey for the rest of the afternoon, then shoveled my sidewalk. While shoveling, I could not help to think of the great people who were standing on the same concrete only 4 months ago! The Roar of the Monster Truck. The Parade...the hockey game...so much neat stuff! And I got to thinkin'....how did this come about? I admit..I used the HELL out of this site to promote my meet and why not? it is Letterheads! But what I'm getting at is the people. I met Mark Fair and others too many to name, and now theDixie Meet....All through this site!!!! This is not a theatrical Plee to askk people to send in your $50.00 to support this site...it's a sanity check for people who have NOT! I guess what I'm getting at is.......I have, and will continue to meet and help and inspire More Letterheads through this site. We would be foolish to let something like this slip thru our hands!! Don't get me wrong, the site is doing fine, let's keep it that way. As I suck down another lovely Grain Belt, I laugh at the GREAT TIME we all had in the Bar.."Ore's" above the Shop! So when you "Tip one up", close youe eyes and then whisper...."Love Shack...Baby Love Shack!!!"

Thank You Barb and Steve Shortreed!
Merry X-Mas and see you at a Letterhead meet soon!!!!!
Sincerly..........Mike Meyer

Mike, that meet was such a carefree time for me. I have such fond memories that I'll cherish.

There just aren't enough words to say how much this site has brought so much positive things and beautiful people into my life.

I too raise a glass as a toast to a wonderful break through! The Letterhead Website!

Steve and Barb, you did a very good thing!

Three of the coolest posted above.......

Ha, I wish everyone a beautiful Christmas and new year. I, too, thank you Steve and Barb. I have said it before, but I came across the site in a search for supplies.... I like good people, and these are some of the best I have ever met. I made it to Mark Fair's meet and it was exactly as I could have only hoped..... I am a Letterhead, even though I do not do signs.... yet. This is a group of artists that value design, style, integrity, class, honesty, and above all.... friendship....
No matter what else, and even though I have only met 'ANYone' that visits here once.... I truely believe these people here are actual friends, bordering on family. I only have you to thank for that Steve.... I paid my $50 just out of principal. I owe you all, paying my 'dues' is nothing compared to what I feel when I log on.... I am talking to friends.....I am a part of this.... and you all mean something to me. .... Ha! Bravo!!! The Letterheads ROCK!!!! .... and any visitors that read this.... you ROCK, too!!!! Welcome!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GREAT LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the past 10 months I have learned that there are alot of very nice Letterheads. I know it does seem strange to talk with people you don't even know, but I intend on changing that and going to a meet very soon. I met Cisco in person, and I have found a true friend forever! That would never have happened without this BB. Thank you again Steve and Barb. May you and your family have a joyous Holiday Season.

Since it's coming up on the end of the year and this is the first year that i have been active on the site ( i was reading it for a long time before that ) I thought about the help i have had.
Help in locating some chips for a broken plotter, advice for glue chipping, static problems solved, variegated leaf size sorted, opinions on different machine recieved, moral support through reading, friendships made in cyberspace and on the phone, a place that gives a sense of ability to me, Inspiration in every area.
In the new year i intend to share a project that is finishing after 2 months and it came at i time when i had the biggest bad debt ever ( i mean BIGGEST ) but the project kept me in the business at a time when i was looking at the job market for options.
So thanks Steve and Barb for everything
And to everybody who hasn't expressed their thanks by suppoting this site just try to imagine if it wasn't here!
Happy Christmas

Couldn't agree with you more Mike. This has been and is the best! Looking back (a habit at this time of year), it's been a tough year personnaly and a good year professionnaly. And the bullboard has been there for me on both counts.
Mike, I want to thank you for your words and help this past year. Losing my son in August was & is devastating. But through your help, and Steve-n-Barb's help, the response from this community and sign folks in general was tremendous. We raised almost $10,000. for my grand-daughters trust fund. The kind words and cards the came with it were invaluable. A special thanks to Bill Reidel for his help. (if you don't know what a beautiful man Bill is e-mail me & I will sing his praises.) BTW I sing like a drunken, dying mule.
Sorry I didn't get to Dixie; Melbourne in Feb. sounds wunnerful. there are a coupla inches of snow on the ground and it's still snowing in Northern Ky.
ahmmmm dreammminggg oofffff a wwhiiiiite Chrissstmassss. Dmn! there goes that drunken mule.
professionnally, the bullboard has been a fountainhead of info and inspiration. Y'all the best!
Merry Christmas to all!
Goodnight Mrs. Calabash where ever you are.

There are very few places anymore that one can just show up and feel welcomed. Ego's and 'what's in it for me' is the battle cry of the day, but not here, not at letterheads. I was amazed when I phoned Mike Lavalle at the last minute to go to his meet and he said come on up! Had been on letterheads once to check out the sight, didnt even know what a 'meet' was. Everyone was so nice and open to show you how they work or how to impove on what it is you are doing. Didnt realize the company I was in til the next day. John Hanaukane, Mr. King, Tim Cox (who still has my sketch pad) and of course, Mike Lavalle. Didnt even know about these folks fully til I returned home and found the chat pal page and read Mikes bio! And noticing the authors of the books i have purchased to further my training. WOW, what a place, what a sight, what good people. Someday I will host a meet and give back a little that I have recieved here in the people and place of letterhead.
Thanks again Barb and Steve.

Ohhh shoot!
I thought the subject of this post was REAR-END PRAISE!

Having had Steve & Barb stay at my place on more than one occasion, I can say that I have seen one of the aforementioned rear-ends and it does deserve high praise.
Unfortunately it was Steve's that I saw when he purposely mooned me!

Steve has one of the best "contractor cracks" you'll ever lay eyes on. Butt enough of this rear-end praise...

I've been coming to this web site and the chat room for what must be 4 years this winter. I've seen it go through some growing pains. There were the beginning days when the "regulars" on mIRC chat consisted of just 4 or 5 people. That was including me and Steve. Things steadily took off after awhile and more and more people came to chat all the time. This was even before there was any method of registering to use the bull board. Steve didn't have any accurate way of knowing how many people, or who was using the place on a routine basis. Now look how many post and read this bullboard regularly!

Change is always difficult at first but Steve and Barb have repeatedly changed things here to try and make it better for everyone. They must have a masochistic streak in them! Yes, plenty of us have contributed suggestions, criticisms, etc. but it's been put into effect by Steve & Barb's decisions to do so.

I'm grateful for the time and energy you both have put into the site. It's brought about many new friends in my life. My trip to Australia would never have taken place if I hadn't entered the word "Letterheads" into that search engine on the web so many years ago. Because of what you have done here, my life has been enriched with memories I will never forget and friends I will never stop loving. Your work with this web site we have come to think of as a community, has helped make that happen for me.

I can't thank you enough for that.

I wish you and your family heaps of health and happiness and good times in the years to come.

Hey Mike after watching you drink a Grain Belt, made me thirsty, so I had to go and get me a 24oz. yup your right on the money about this site! I for one, who was wondering around the country know for a fact how valuable and Dynamite this place is, I also got to meet a bunch of truly beautiful and lovely folks. JackieB, Rich Stebbings, the Percells, Rick Sacks, TBuk, Si Allen, Mike McCloud, Kelli, Nettie (lady has a heart of gold), Old Paint, Maw & P-King, Sam Sanfilipo, just to name a few of my VIP's from way up hidden in the hills of Northern California, to the deep south of Alabama, a great bunch in Florida, all the way to the most southern point of the USA. and my last stop was to the great North West, where I had the pleasure to meet the beautiful "Ms Cheryl" she's a Dynamite gal. Never met a woman who I had so much in common with, and i'm not just talking Signs. well not to jump track here, but Mr Mike Meyers, and to you Steve and Barb. I raise my 24 oz and say Hola and Mery Christmas to yous and all the beautiful people here on this web site. even if I never met yous. One day we just might!! Cisco

Well Mike,
It's near year end and a new century be
comin' round and what an interesting concept
of listening to your computer with the eyes.
This board has the magic to make us laugh &
cry. Many of us have not made it to enough of
the letterhead events of the past but those
who did brought your thoughts and photo's here for us to read and see. So thanks for that and thanks to Steve and Barb, for toughing things out along the way and allowing us po'folk to look in on occasion.
We don't have the ponds here with ice, you
lucky dogs,or we would be having a day of
hockey ourselves ( I dont put on the skates
anymore, knees are gone ) I coach at the
bantam-midget level and its stil a blast
when we do get ice time. Go Sharks / Redwings

Hope to see all you authors at Boise...
Remember..Defense wins games, Offense wins
fans. Keep offending us Steve, Thanks!
Thas'it,.........CrazyJack

DARN!!!
everything good has been said already.Besides no amount of words I could come up with can exspress my gratitude towards the wonderful thing that Steve&Barb have done maintaining this site for the letterheads in general, and me personaly.I can truly say that without this board these people, and the meets.I would not be the person I am today, and better for it.Heck, somehow this site has even enriched my life,by hooking up with the love of my
live once again.
REMEMBER: our first"date" after 30 years apart was to the letterhead meet in Mazeppa!!
Just being around you people made Bobbie fall in love with me and the whole idea of the letterhead movement!!!
Thanks Steve&Barb for helping me find true happiness in my professional life and my personal life also!
