I just bought a new roland camm1 24" plotter and I am trying to use corel 8 to sut with but I cant get it to cut. I ma trying to use the drivers that came with the plotter. I have never cut any vinyl in the past I am a total virgin to all this. I have more than enough computing power. This is a hobbie to me but I just want to learn as I go and so far its been a slow go. Thanks....Brad

Hi Brad....Check out this link. It tells you pretty much what to do to cut from Corel to a Roland cutter. The first part involves Corel 4 and a PNC 1000 the next involves Corel 8 and a CM 24 (if you have a CX 24 it should work the same way)

I thanks you for all the info but I did get it to cut once but now all i get is an error message it is er15:232err I looked up what the error is and it states "Appears if framing error, parity error, or overrun error occurs at the time of data reception. The protocol settingfor the cx-24 must be made correctly in order to matchthe settingyour computer is set to use." Can some one explain this in engish to me. One would think that I bought this plotter new and there is no printed owners book that comes with it you have to read it off acrobat reader!!! Hell I bought a $50 ink jet printer and it came with a 50 page owners book!!!

Brad...Sorry, I don't understand those error messages either. And, unfortunately, I don't own a CX 24 so I can't help you out with any specific settings.
The basics of doing the cutting are.. install the driver...make sure the cutter is connected via LPT/parallel connection (NOT SERIAL)..... make sure that "rotate 90" is turned OFF on the actual cutter ( I just checked and there is a description of how to do that in the manual. If rotate is set to OFF on the cutter the blade will travel to a start position at the left pinch roller, ronate ON it starts at the right pinch roller)....enable "rotate 90" in the driver.
Also...if using 24" material use a page size in COrelDraw of no more than 22.99"
