Just a poll to give customers an honest but diversified opinion of what they can expect. Most of my customers ask these questions, and perhaps a poll and discussion on these topics would relax/disturb them...Perhaps the post can be printed out allowing them to view the opinions of someone besides a salesman. Methods, brands, areas, etc. for each. Thanks, Bronzeo

Hi Jack, what you are looking for is a very tall order. As far as a guarantee, well we do not make the products, so we should not be liable. I can tell you that 23 kt gold leaf will outlast any paint as long as you do not clear coat it. All the paints are being changed and where they were very durable before the EPA, they are now weaker and do not last as long.....

Thanks Bill, Any opinion; bad or good will help sign makers as well as customers make reasonable decisions. I carve and gild, because I find them more attractive than any other. I use One Shot because of availability, and that is what I started with. I mix colors a lot so I try to stick with a "learned pallate". Mixing brands on color mixing often proves to be a mistake.I would recommend lettering paints rather than bulletins. Vinyls, I have used several brands of, and I find that sticking with one, gives you better feel for installs. Macktac is priced right, good availablity and is improving in quality all the time. It's not as flimsy as some of the more expensive ones. 3M seems fragile, but has a great color range (probably the best available).

Yep gold is the best Arlon, 3M and Avery Vinyl works for me Oracal is sort of awful I use 1~shot or Benj. Moore paint for backgrounds and handlettering. Redwood is my choice for sandblasted signs.
