I have 4 vans with old faded, cracked yellow viynl panels down the length of the van.Peeling and scraping would take days and lots of fingers. Are there any products strong enough to eat the viynl?

Hiya Brian, There are spray-on "vinyl removers". 3m is the brand I used most. The problem is that they may work too good and start removing or, at least, staining the paint too. If you use the search feature at the top of the page, and look for "vinyl removal" or similar, you'll get back about 20-40 previous posts on the subject. Choose the method that works best for you. I've gottem 3M and a Strip-Ease product to work pretty well. Strip Ease is aboout half the price. The problem with both comes when the graphic was screenprinted. The ink will run down the sides of the vehicle if not absorded or caught before. Use less and let soak more time and protect the finish directly below the graphic from stain.

Brian, Listen to Del. The remover he mentioned, Decal X remover is an excellent product, it smells like crazy, so you need a mask, rubber gloves and some patience. All you do is spray it on, leave it for about 30 minutes, then peel away the vinyl, as for when the vinyl is no longer there, ie oxidation of the vynil and the glue is left, just wipe it off with paper towels. Again as Del said, EM Plastics sells it, I have used it many times. Neil
