steve barba posted an interesting topic about the letterstyles we hate the most, how about the one's you love...
i love these typefaces if used in the correct manner...
Mike Stevens' "Magic" SignDNA Mike Stevens' "Aroyo" SignDNA Mike Stevens' "Master", "Phoenix" (these are good to substitute stanch serif typefaces like times bold, a lot more character(no pun intended)

Any of Bob Behounek's fonts are my favorites. Standard type would be Goudy or some variations on Cooper (headline only). Century Schoolbook too.
Good scripts are hard to come by but Rapier is decent. I like Optima or Friz Quatra when I want a more elegant font without serifs.
Of course any sign painter's font converted is often preferable than some of the standard ones.

Bash. Can't seem to find it on any CD's though. Its a cocktail of single stroke letters borrowed from several mentors, a showcard at the Irish Club, window splashes seen around town, the point of sale cards at an upmarket nursery near me... Oh, and I'm having a Kabel Ultra BT binge at the moment. David

I've been wearing out the "Magic" script from SignDNA since I bought it a few days ago - -customers seem to like it as well - -it's fresh to this area- - -My old standby is "Impact" - -Copperplate is cool in it's place - -Triplett works pretty good slanted & outlined- - -I HATE HELVETICA!!!!

Wow, you guys spout of names of fonts so fast my head is spinning faster than Mark Fair can pick a gi-tar!!! Over half of the names I don't even reconize.......man am I falling behind. Remember when they were called Block? Casual? Roman? Gothic? Script? Italic? What's my favorite? Hands down it's any Roman done well with a brush to fit it's purpose at the moment. One of the best styles I've ever seen is Monte's upside down casual. ( I'm still knocked out by it Monte!!!!) Sorry guys, I think ready made fonts are just tools and of course I love tools as much as the next guy but, a handcrafted letter done with a knowing hand ahhhh..... tis a thing of beauty, lad. If ya want to see the fur fly off brushes then come to Fred's in March. ( Give me an amen Monte!)

My favorite is 'Chinese Script" a show card style one stroke, then my own backhand Script,
The fonts on a computer are great but NOTHING beats the "Feeling" you get after doing a particular job and it turns out well! Shep'

I don't do a lot of lettering. But when I do it is usually with a handcrafted (slightly bent)version of something that fits into a project I'm doing.
If I need some typesetting for a brochure or presentation I'm doing I love the cc pulp fiction which I bought from a comic book font site on the web. This site is also a great source for many of the lettering styles for my projects.
Fun stuff!
