I have this guy that has this big Scarab boat and he wants to replace his printed decals with one of my designs. I came up with a nice little design that has 3 colers in it . The design is going below the side bumper molding so it will not be rubbing against the dock but about 4 inces will be below the water line. I am going to stack the colers on top of one anouther . Do you think I will have any problems doing this. I am using performance vinyl. thanks for your help and advice.

Nope you wont have any problems at all. I would recommend using Avery A8 film though, it's got the most wicked adhesive I've ever seen on a vinyl. I have vinyl graphics on the running surface of my jetski hull (the part that contacts the water at full throttle, or in my 'ski's case about 75 MPH) and there's no sign of it coming off - it's on there super tight.

Ryan, 99% of all the decals and fancy stripes on boats are high performance vinyl. Just make sure you use a good cleaner and degreaser prior to applying your vinyl.
I'm sure you will get lots of feedback on this one !!

Hi,Ryan.I did a 40 footer a couple summers ago .The design was three colors. The way these boats sit in the water its hard to get all of the design above the water. The end of the graphic was about half under water when the boat was sitting still ,but at 90mph you could read it great. The owner is still a client of mine and there hasn't been any problems with his boat.Always remember a good prep job is the key to the final product.I hope this helps. See Ya , Garret
