He's headed for another hip replacement on Monday. He'll be down for about 5 days......just long enough for the nurses to clear out before he's mobile. Should keep him barefoot for a while.

A little story for ya... My father out law had his hip repaired after he fell off our steep pitched barn and broke his fall with his butt. The first one didn't take too well because he was doing things like taking off the side door to his '30 Model A so he could drive it to the coffee shop with his leg hanging out on the side boards. When he went in for the second time, they did a complete replacement and his recovery time was much faster... but Mom was not fast enough to Duct tape his butt to his chair. Having the doors already off the '30 Model A all he had to do is hop over to it and down the road he went. He was at the coffee shop being served in the parking lot by his favorite waitress when his thera****t showed up (no spelling error there) and fired him on the spot. No more home therapy for him!
Behave and get well soon or I'll send Megan some Duct tape and Baleing wire (in case you have already hidden all yours). I know she's faster than Mom and could catch you. LOL
Take it easy~

Hi Kids. At six AM on Monday I walk into the hospital and let them cut off the top of my leg and put it back on again with some more hi-tech space parts. By early afternoon I should be awake again and wiggling my toes, and before the day is done, I should be putting full weight on it and taking a couple steps. In no time at all I'll be twice as hip. Thanks for your wishes, prayers, and hopes.

HI Rick, I'll be thinking about you Monday morning when the time comes, 9 am my time. Just had a close friend go thru hip replacement and saw her recover very well. You've already done it, so you know. I know you will use your recovery time well. Have you thought about a good set of headphones and some books on tape? Or, knowing you as I do, you will be happy with your own thoughts and ponderings.... God speed- it too shall pass.

Sofia and I are wishing you well. We'll be thinking of you and sending good thoughts come Monday. They should probably save any hip parts they take out, seeing how you were among the founders out here in CA in the 60's. After all the Smithsonian may want something to remember you by!
Seriously, may your surgery go flawlessly, your recovery painlessly, and your rehabilitation speedily!
With love, Rich and Sofia

Well folks, I just finnished the last of my chores. Changed the washers in the drippy faucets and outlined a gift sign for a seven year old and set up the new table saw and got my hair cut. In the morning I'll put on some sweats and slippers and check in for a visit with ol' saw bones. Should I survive this, I'll be back to continue tormenting you all in little time.
