I have no doubts that this has probably been asked countless times already but until the BULLBOARD gets a "Newbies" thread I gotta ask it here...
When painting on vinyl with One Shot Lettering enamels what do you do before/after to make it stay?

Bernard;
Wipe it down with alcohol or cheap laquer thinner first.

Before I paint 1-Shot over vinyl I first coat it with Frog Juice or 1-Shot clear. Then I paint on the color I want.

Try Deka (water based enamel). Works on Vinyl and PVC. No primer needed. Great colors. Doesn't chalk like 1-shot does.

Bernard,

Funny you ask as I am working on a project right now.

First I use ONLY 3m High performance or Gerber 220 series vinyl.

Second I scuff the surface with a 3m grey light scuff pad, then I wipe it down with Alcohol and paint.

You can clear with frog juice after that.

Frog Juice? Before paint/after paint? Boy this must be like salt or something?
Where can read more about this or buy it ? Online?

A light mist of Froggie and hit it with a hair dryer for a few seconds. It will dry fast that way. Then do your lettering. More Froggie might provide extra UV stability, but is not necessary. It functions as a barrier coat between the dissimilar materials, enabling adhesion.
