The land we bought to put the shop on was at one time Indian land and so many bad things have happened during the negotiations of the sale(not the least of which was a suicide)that we thought maybe it was time to rid the land of its evil.
We know an elder of the Shawnee tribe and asked him to bless the land and rid it of the bad.
Today at noon we met him, his daughter and two of our closest friends at the building site.
As we all faced the east he blessed the land and said an indian prayer over it and us.
He promised to translate the prayer and give it to us so I can reproduce it on a placque for the shop when it's complete.
I'm sure some of you don't believe in such a thing...but we do and we're looking forward to a future of good spirits and happiness in the new digs.
OH and just to make sure...our friends brought a bottle of champaign to "christen" the broken ground.
All in all...a cool day!

Well cool Monte. I can sort of relate. Every house we have ever bought...I would go in and feel the feelings of the house. When I was married there was this old 1910 house for sale. I HAD to have that house. It was great fun. The very first time I went in that house I got good vibes. Very very good vibes. Most people thought there were ghosts as the house would creek and moan. But I got only good feelings from that house. I miss it actually. The house we have now, I also got good vibes when we first walked thru. It is small....but only good spirits live here. I don't belive in evil spirits...except the ones living in my airbrush. There are days when those guys just don't want to go to work and nothing I can do will change their minds. Maybe there's an airbrush shaman out there.

"Evil Spirits" are a reality folks. They're the ones responsible for, and in charge of all hangovers....believe it.

I'm with ya...Monte. You have undoubtedly saved your self a lot of upset in the future...it is ALWAYS a good idea to appease the spirits whenever you move into thier energy spots....Good Luck.
I would really like to read the prayer the shaman gave....

When I was kid, they put in a new street behind our house, and started building new homes. They discovered an old I ndian burial mound, and decide to just level it. They simply took a dozer and pushed the mound out into the rest of the area, leveling everything to build homes. the next day we were playing on the fresh turned dirt because it would give when you jumped on it.
The engineers said there was an underground spring causing this.(never was that way before) On the third day, the D-8 dozer that had pushed the mound over, started sinking(in the underground spring). They brought another dozer to pull it out, with no luck. They wound up dismantelling the dozer. Saved most of it, except for the tracks, and undercarriage, as they were already under by the time they got to them.
That was about 35 years ago and two of the homes have already been torn down and replaced. The home that was on top of the old mound has had seven owners so far. Each family has had a death in it(two were suicides) The last family that bought the house found out about all of this, and brought in an older I nian to bless the ground, and ask forgiveness for what the others had done. They have lived there happily for almost 20 years, with no problems.
I think you did a good thing.

In the 60's I read Carlos Castenada's series. The Teachings of Don Juan, A Yaqui Way of Knowledge, Journey to Ixtlan, and The Eagle's Gift. I had to make a quick bible stop after the third book. Tell me, there ain't no evil spirits!!!!

As you can imagine My shop being in the infamous Salem Massachusetts the wiccan religon is alive and thriving here. A smudge stick and a blessing was in order when I opened just over a year ago. here is a simple one you can do: take pure sand and put it in a small tin can. then light a green candle next write down on white unlined paper, specificly the type of sucess you hope for next light the paper on fire and let it burn completely in the tin can. do this every day for a week and you will have great prosperity (so they say) It is really all about belief and as with any religon...Faith your Shaman can only remove the evil if you believe he can.
