Well, I'm trying to lay down a reverse. One that you can easily walk up to and see. Yes its black on white. How do you handle it with no bubbles. Dry, light mist of fluid, or heavy flow of fluid. I have been having my best luck with heavy flow, to help float it while I squeegy from one side on most of my larger letters, but this one is giving my the willys,,,, Still learnin....Bronzeo

HiJack...........We use a 3" applicators brush, but temperature seems to have a lot to do with it. Even glass too cold does the same thing. My daughter swears by the Felt squeegees. If the film is 2mil premium it seems to be worse than the 4mil.

I like dry.
Double layer the application tape for larger graphics or use one of the heavyweight tapes available. This helps especially with HP vinyl.
Use heavy initial pressure.
Go slow.
Overlap squeegee strokes.

Are you actually applying the vinyl "in the field" or to another substrate in the shop?

When I'm applying vinyl over a substrate in the shop (usually vinyl over vinyl) I tape down the substrate to the table then register the vinyl with the substrate and tack it into place with a few pieces of tape.

Anything that's 12"x24" and under, I hinge on one side, remove the liner, pull taught then go ahead and bring the lifted side down to the substrate. Then I squeegee the vinyl down, all done completely DRY.
Anything larger than 12"x24" I do the same DRY method except putting the tape hinge in the center.

In the field, I place the graphics where they need to go, liner and all, then hinge along the BOTTOM. Let the graphic hang down then peel the liner off and squeegee into place.

I like to apply dry, especially when rivets are involved.

Very rarely do I ever use application fluids. I'll use them when I just have a funny feeling about a particular graphic but when I do use them, it's a good heavy flood.

Since I use the clear plastic transfer tapes, I usually have to wait a while to remove the tape because of the aggressive adhesives pulling wet vinyl up.

I would use 3m gold squeeges. Rub the edges togather so you get rid of the bumps and indents(rough squeeges leave lots of bubbles!). Press very hard while applying so hard your nuckles turn white, thats my guage to make sure im using enough pressure!!

Im also a dry guy. I rarley ever use fluids unless i have to.

I like wet app sometimes and dry other.
I apply dry over rough areas, rivets etc.
As mentioned above, heavy pressure works best for me too. Keep that squeegee slick and free of bumps and nicks.
Also, when you put the app tape on the vinyl, try not to get any overlaps over the copy.
