Hello all! My husband is in the mobile painting business doing chips, bumpter, and windshields. He claims I would be able to do windshields on car lots with One Shot. I don't know where to begin, what to do first, and what is that called? How much would I charge? He basically goes to different car lots and does customer cars and lot cars. Makes decent money. I want to work maybe one or two days a week doing the lettering on the windshields. I need your help.

Thanks.

1st thing you need to understand is pricing...to paint windshields, 1 color simple line like "CLEAN $1995 is worth $5-6 bottom price...any cheaper you are doing you and every other windshield painter a disservice.....and if you do em for any less you may ass well get a job flipin burgers.....you make the same....

Windshields are a good place to start learning how to get use to manipulating your brushes,in order to do lettering on them.
Also a good place to start learning how to stretch over a car hood to cover the passenger side with said lettering.
Good place to get your face sunburned from the sun reflection off the glass too.
The only place you can learn the mind of a SALESMAN(buy cheap,sell high)
I get $8.oo per car/20 car minimum
using One Shot/3 colors
Of course I have to work more than 1 or 2 days a week.As it has only taken me 32years of practice to learn how to letter.
Good Luck
Hope this helps

Well, this sounds good to me. And yes, I do only want to work 1-2 days a week. My husband brings home the rest of the bread and butter so to speak. I just need it for my spending, groceries, and something to fall back on someday, if you know what I mean. His business name is already a goldmind here in Ohio, and I'll be using his name and adding something like "graphics' or "lettering' or somethign to the end. What you said about the passenger side of the car, being right handed, I see myself starting there, on the passenger side, as far as I can, then going to the other side to finish the driver's side. Is that right?
