In the spirit of Mike Jackson’s current column in SignCraft, I would like to offer a few additional tips relative to Gerber GA & Omega.

Paste Back: This can be especially useful to Edge users who want to overprint an object over its orginal. Paste back does just what it implies; paste the selected object(s) directly where it was copied. This option makes it very easy to place a copied object(s) directly over the original. This can also make it difficult to select the base object, but see the next tip.

Backspace Key to Select: When multiple objects are in close proximate to one another it can be difficult at times to select the preferred object. It is possible to use the backspace key to aid in this task. In the example above, if you originally selected the top object but wanted the base, simply press the backspace key. Continuing pressing the backspace key to move to the next closest object. This can also be used in conjunction with the Control Select that was reviewed in the article.

Dump Printing Attributes: Did you ever want to delete all fills and strokes to all selected objects in a job file? In GA Composer, a simple right click on the fountain fill icon will delete all fill attributes. Same operation above the stroke icon will delete all stroke attributes of the selected objects. Omega users now have icons for this operation. A more productive method is to use short-cut key combo [CTRL+1] for fills and [CTRL+2] for strokes. That key combination may be the only option GA Select/GA Elite/Omega CL/Omega CS users have to dump print attributes.

Possible typo? Under the Handle Move section, Omega users are instructed to use the Ctrl key to achieve similar results as listed. I believe that the Alt key needs to be used and not the Ctrl.

Anyone else want to offer up some time savers!?
