Anybody out there know how to put memory in a powermac 8500 minitower? I have used a desktop model for years, and those were easy, but I haven't put any in these before. If you know how, let me know. Email me or answer here. thanks y'all.

Here we go...

A little of this is plagerized

Case is the same form factor as an earlier Quadra 800. This will be short of a nightmare but it is possible to add ram. Best of all you can stick 512 meg in the 8 slots.
Unscrew the four thumbscrews on the back panel, and then slide the case forward away from the drive bays. Tilt the rear of the case upwards, & slide it off the chassis.

There may be enough room for you to get your hands inside but the easiest is to carefully detach the ribbon cables(don't forget to mark them) unplug the PCI cards,
and remove(unscrew) the panel holding the motherboard in place.

Insert the ram & backtrack.

I'll be in Commerce, Fri, Sat & Sunday, If ya can't get it bring it on down. I'll help ya!

Thanks Sam. I should've just called you in the first place. I thought I had already asked you about it, but apparently I didn't. I'll try this and see if I can do it without blowing up the world.
Sorry, though, I aint gonna make it to Commerce. I'll call you next week and see what fun you all had. I sure would've liked to went though.
