I received a fax from Diane Balch wanting me to inform everyone of a new Trojan Worm Virus called W32 Funlove Virus that has infected their computer. She says it was picked up by e-mail or visiting a website.

1. Getting on line 4 posting, e-mails...time appears to have been slowing down over a period of 3 - 4 weeks. Eventually you won't be able to get on line at all.
2. As things are slowing down the virus is attacking your files & sending itself out through your address book.
Warning: Our McAfee Anti Virus Software is updated daily and files scanned daily and the virus was not picked up.
Ernie bought the latest Norton Anti Virus and has installed it. Still have 300 infected files (3500 of 3800 were cleaned up by the Norton Software.)
Next step: do backup - then reformate the drives and re-install programs.

That's scary stuff Barb. As you know yourself I had a virus earlier this year which caused me a lot of heartache and money to fix. I did think that Norton was the be all end all of bugcatchers, but it seems the @#$$#'s are one step ahead.

The Balch's and I email each other regularly....But all this week I have been collecting my emails from a remote location as I am up the coast (housesitting in mendocino) till tomorrow.
Since I'm reading mail off the server I can't get it here.
I'll make sure I update everything when I get back, and maybe I'll just continue getting my mail with 'mail2web.com' to be safe.
