This is my first feeble attempt at a website and the pages seem to load too slow to me. Anyone have any tips on what to do to make it load a little faster? It's one of those Tripod sites which I thought I could experiment with before attempting a real dot.com of my own. I scanned the images from my photos at 300 dpi into my CAS program, exported some at 50dpi and some at 75dpi, and then uploaded them. After I get the image thing under control, then I'll start with the text. Thanks for the help.

Wayne, are you using an image editing program (Photoshop, Fireworks, PhotoPaint, etc.) to prepare the images for the web?
If not, that would be a good start to get image sizes under control. Actually that's a loaded question because I know you aren't using such software judging by the file sizes of those jpg's. Use some compression on those images if your current software gives you the option.
Also, tripod sites (other free sites as well) are notorious for slow loading so alot of the issue could simply be the server. Can't get somethin' for nuthin' ya know?

Wow, nice start. this is some of many good ways to have your page load faster.
You reduce the size of your images. 1. crop all unnecessary area around the image. this wil reduce your bit count. 2. rescan your image at a lower resolution. 100 is plenty. Many computer monitors cannot display much above that any way. 3. use an image optimizer such as Photo shop or Illustrator to export your images for web. The image "Double A Farm is over 183,000. IT would be nice to get it down to about 18,000. that will load really fast..
photoshop and ilustrator has a export option that will tell u how much time your image will take to load over a 28,2 modem. There are other proggies that will do. But this will give u an idea..

What Curtis says is true. Also, try sizing your pics at around 330 pixels wide. It's a good size for web work. Try and keep the pics to 20kb or under. They'll load much faster that way.

Thanks everyone for the great info. I will try those things Curtis. This will have to suffice for now as I don't know beans about building a website......YET. This one is practically a no-brainer to build.
Does anyone know who has better hosting and is easy for a dummy to build?
Thanks for the compliment Mark.
