Hello all, I am doing a backlit sign to match some towtrucks that I did for a towing company. It calls for some prismatic yellow lettering with a thick black outline. I was thinking of laying down a layer of a standard translucent yellow then cutting the highlights out of the same material and overlaying it. Will this cause the effect I am looking for? In my mind, it works, as it would double the opacity of the vinyl and give the beveled look. Anyone done this before? Thanks for any input!

Yes it will work at nite...BUT NOT during the day! With refected light, yellow on top of yellow, is still yellow. With transmitted light, 2 layers of translucent will appear darker.
Better off to use 2 shades of translucent yellow!

You could use two shades of yellow or possibly overlap with the True Shadow vinyl that was a topic not long ago. They would both work, but would look completely different.
