I thought while I had some down time for the most part I would work on a website for the business.

I am looking for a "Free" hosting site that allows business'. I have signed up a few weeks ago with Tripod, and I havn't "built" anything yet, but I thought I seen someone mention here that you could not link pictures to here from Tripod anymore. If that is the case that would defeat one of my purposes for having a site.

I did have one on Bigstep.com and I could post a picture on the portfolio page here linked to that site. Unfortunatly, Bigstep is now a "pay" site.

Any suggestions on a provider????

I think when my cable modem gets back up and running they offer so many MB of web space for free. I do not know when that service will be back up and I would like to start building and then transfer over to it when the time comes. My dial-up service does not offer any free web hosting.

Thanks for any help!!!!!!!

Troy, I'm delighted that you're home and on the mend. I'm also pleased that you're not still so dopey from the residual chemicals they use in the hospital to want to tackle such an endeavor.

I posted a similar question a couple months ago. If you do a search on free web hosting you'll find literally hundreds. I tried many. They have these formulas that you plug in your own info to and create a website. I was impressed. I also found each to have something that I didn't like. Some allowed no ftp to upload photos. You needed to go through this big ordeal for each one. Most allowed no linking. This was not acceptable. The few that did, wanted only a few photos before you exceeded the allowed space. There were some that looked like the ticket, but rumor was they were about to drop the free part.

There was a website I found that rated these free web sites where folks wrote in comments on a BB. I gleaned info there.

If you find a site that works for you, please advise me. I'm stil without photo potential since tripod went $$$.

And really, welcome back!

Troy,

Check this out, It may be what you need.

http://www.bigthicketdirectory.com/freewebpages.html

I can post photos to this site as you can see. If it works for you and you have questions just ask I will help.

Glad you are back and I am praying they can help stop the bone loss. Building a site will help keep your mind off your problem but just remember to rest too.

Take care,
Debbie

Troy,
I use netfirms.com. Its free if they can put up banners or $60 for banner-free. I think they allow 25 megs but I am not sure. They give you 1 mailbox too but any mail is then forewarded to whatever email you choose. I am going to be set up for something like sales@vgsign.com and then will have everything that comes in forwarded to another visiongraphics email address.
