Hello all.. I haven't got a press for sealing createx to a t-shirt. what I have been doing is spraying clear over the art work. which makes the shirt stiff. any ideas on how to keep the paint from coming off when washed. i've tried ironing them and that doesn't seem to work well. thanx CJ

I do many pieces on T-Shirts and Denim Jackets as well as Leather...
Spray a coat of Extender on the textile first and heat set with a Iron with steam setting. Then take it and set with a heat gun on low.
After its dry, Airbrush your graphics and set with the Heat Gun again between colouring. Then only product that really needs a Clear coat is Leather. I'll send you some sample pics of my work to judge with. Wash and wear for over 2-3 years with no fading.
Hope this helps!
Also many projects on Helmets,Tanks Etc. with Createx Auto Paints with very good results.
Protrait painting on BanBridge board works wonders!

Ed, I produce airbrushed products on a daily basis and have used createx products for years with great success. While irons and heat guns do work, the BEST heat set is with a press, and if you shop around there are lots of good deals on used equipment. Invest in a few heat transfers to test out the heat press befor you make the buy. I'm faizing out my createx textile paints and switching over to GOLDEN Fluids. They are just as durable if not more so then Createx and they do not need to be heat set! They flow better, do not tip dry as fast, and they have a much better shelf life!. Plus their colors are much brighter. I've been testing them for over two years now and I'm quite happy with the results as are my customers! Robin

I have airbrushed t-shirts since 1985, and one of the first "big investments" was a used Hix heat press. Over 16 years later, the same press is being used everyday. I think my investment paid off. I have used many paints including Createx, but I still keep coming back to "AquaFlow" brand textile paints. They are a little harder to find but definately worth it. I use "top binder" from Aquaflow to clear coat the art, then heat set the shirt. I have had great results with Top Binder.
