Hey Gang,

I have to bid a BIG'ol banner - 7'6 x 28 FEET. This is just straight san-serif (yes, ugh, helvetica more than likely) copy. What I am thinking they want is either two lines of 4 foot copy, or one 6 foot tall line. Total banners will either be two, or up to six in quantity.

I only have a 15" cutter, and I dont want to paint it, sooooooo......

Anyone out there with a 48" or so plotter, gimme a shout with some idea on what it will cost me to get some intermediate vinyl in red, white, dark blue, or maroon. Not sure of color scheme yet, but thats their colors...

drop me a line at : robblowe@hotmail.com when you get a chance or share your wares with the world and who knows, right?

thanks,

Doesn't anyone have a 48" plotter??? Does my breath stink?

I havent heard a peep yet! I really would rather spend my money with a letterhead than Gregory etc.

I know Gregory would be quite a bit cheaper than me, anyway. They're set up to do wholesale work. I used to use them back when I had a 20" plotter. They do great work, and are timely, too. They made a 5 foot tall three color Fire Dept. maltese cross for me about six years ago...

Rob,

I've got a 52" Graphtec plotter/printer. I've never cut anything over 24" on it, because of the infrequency of anything that big, and the cost of stocking 48" material.

I personally would panel the 48" letters in 2 pieces, with 24" material. I usually stock red, white, black, forest green and sometimes other colors in 24" intermediate. I've got 24" burgundy 3M 7125 (HP) in stock too.

If the total banner order would eat up the 48" material, then I definitely would try to do it in 48" vinyl. The only headache is masking stuff that big, and of course, laying it out.

The 6' letters, well, I guess you could go 48" and 24" paneled.

With the Gerber Edge only cutting 11.8", I have paneled 4 high with no problems. So if you had to do it with your 15" plotter, it's a headache, but it can be done.

Also--Ameriban stocks Avery A5 in 48" by the yard(according to their catalog.)

E-mail me if you want more information, Rob.

I have a 49" Gerber Odyssey plotter. Long plots are not a problem. Let me know if I can help.
