Hey folks....Need some expertise.....How do I prep the sides of a rivetted...u-haul type van. I am painting on a graphic with one shot.... Any light sanding or anything ??? Or do I just start, with no prepping....Thanks ahead....B Fleming

the area aroud the rivits....take an old toothbrush and some cleaner grade auto paint reducer and wipe with clean paper towel.might take a little paint of but your gona cover it up anyway.....paint will stick where vinyl wont....

If the rivets are aluminum,the paint will eventually flake off.Make sure your cuatomer understands this. I like to sand the areas I paint if the vehicle will see abusive and extreme conditions.I dust the pattern on and then scuff lightly inside the lines with a scotchbrite pad. Add some hardener to the One Shot.It really helps Wear a respiratorif you use hardener. Prep entire area with Rapid Prep.

Barbara, get some Rapid Prep. This will get out the oil,grease,wax,silicone. Its(unlike the solvents from automotive industry) NON hazardous,NON flammable !!

Hi Barabara! Kurt Gaber taught me, whenever possible, to remove the rivets & then put 'em back in after the paint is dry. This makes for a nice, clean look, providing you can find a @#$%!! screwdriver bit to fit the rivet... Love- JILL
