I was going through boxes of old papers and files, throwing things away (with the help off my teenage helper btw) and came across a file of stuff from a wildlife art workshop I went to in Montana in '91.
As I glanced at each piece of paper I asked myself "Do I need this list of participants and thier phone numbers"? Nawwww.....just before I tossed it in the can I happened to notice a familiar name on that list:
Jim Upchurch!!
HEY!, I know that guy!! The Same Jim Upchurch? this address was in Tumwater, WA...coincidence????????
Have we already MET!?
Now, if I can only find the pics from that workshop, bet I could spot him!

Yep, that was me Adrienne. I thought it was in '90 though. I had a motorcycle accident (centerpunched a big doe) in June and I think I was there in mid September, still hurtin a bit. The main guest artist was John Seery Lester but he may have been there for more that one session. Jack Hines and Jesica Zemski were they hosts and I never learned so much about art in so little time, I would highly recommend it if they still do it. Sound familiar ?

I thought it was in '90. Let's see what else do I remember ? We were sitting in a field sketching a deer on a cloudless summer day. There was a hint of Jasmine in the air. A nearby mountain stream trickled completing a scene of unparalleled transquility. In fact, I believe we actually were levitating a bit from the harmonic balance of the communal bliss. Suddenly Bambi's head snapped back violently followed by a loud crack. A wild man ran from the woods shouting "My name is Pierre, that's my deer and I claim it in the name of my family".
We broke camp early and I swore I would never step foot in Montana again.

Which reminds me... A guy walks into a bar and says "All lawyers are A**holes !" A guy stands up and says " I resent that". So the guy asks "Why, are you a lawyer?" And he replies "No, I'm an a**hole".

BOY..Am I glad that I gave up on posting to anything that goes against Si Allen's sensibilities!
Seems HE is now the official BullBoard police!
Jim..I thought your "anecdote" was humorous! And that you intended that way.

I have laughing tears running down my face, first about your very lyrical description of rhapsody in the forest, which I was reading with my mouth open until my very own head snapped back along with Bambis. Then Si went off without a gun, and you calmly came back with another joke and remained in good spirits anyway.
Funny stuff, this place is better than reality TV, that's for sure.

Thanks Myra, my off color humor hits some people the wrong way sometimes. I always wanted to be normal and the doctors say I should hang in there, these things take time. Which reminds me...
CODE FOR ETHICAL PATIENT BEHAVIOR
1. DO NOT EXPECT YOUR DOCTOR TO SHARE YOUR DISCOMFORT Involvement with the patient's suffering might cause him to lose valuable scientific objectivity.
2. BE CHEERFUL AT ALL TIMES Your doctor leads a busy and trying life and requires all the gentleness and reassurance he can get.
3. TRY TO SUFFER FROM THE DISEASE FOR WHICH YOU ARE BEING TREATED Remember that your doctor has a professional reputation to uphold.
4. DO NOT COMPLAIN IF THE TREATMENT FAILS TO BRING RELIEF You must believe that your doctor has achieved a deep insight into the true nature of your illness, which transcends any mere permanent disability you may have experienced.
5. NEVER ASK YOUR DOCTOR TO EXPLAIN WHAT HE IS DOING OR WHY HE IS DOING IT It is presumptuous to assume that such profound matters could be explained in terms that you would understand.
6. SUBMIT TO NOVEL EXPERIMENTAL TREATMENT READILY Though the surgery may not benefit you directly, the resulting research paper will surely be of widespread interest.
7. PAY YOUR MEDICAL BILLS PROMPTLY AND WILLINGLY You should consider it a privilege to contribute, however modestly, to the well-being of physicians and other humanitarians.
8. DO NOT SUFFER FROM AILMENTS THAT YOU CANNOT AFFORD It is sheer arrogance to contract illnesses that are beyond your means.
9. NEVER REVEAL ANY OF THE SHORTCOMINGS THAT HAVE COME TO LIGHT IN THE COURSE OF TREATMENT BY YOUR DOCTOR The patient-doctor relationship is a privileged one, and you have a sacred duty to protect him from exposure.
10. NEVER DIE WHILE IN YOUR DOCTOR'S PRESENCE OR UNDER HIS DIRECT CARE This will only cause him needless inconvenience and embarrassment.

Okay Jim, CODE FOR ETHICAL PATIENT BEHAVIOR was very funny. I especially liked #8 I can see the humor in the other one now. I did not get it the time I first read it. I was up too late I guess. Next time I will wait before I post. Thanks, Debbie
