Hello,

The owner of our shop is in the finishing stages of building a Timber framed house in Fernie, British Columbia. The house is a joint project between two families and will be used for personal use as well as a rental house for travellers or tourists.

They are stumped on what to call their house for when they market it for rental. It is a beautiful house that is minutes from the winter ski destinations. Their last names are Traptow and Frasier, and one idea was "Trappers Hideaway". I think that it should have a more European Flavor and maybe incorporate the words "Chalet" or "Chateau".

Does anyone have any ideas on names. As I always find, it's harder to create something when it's close to you.

Thanks,
Steve

First thing that came to my mind was

Trapped at Frasiers Chalet/Chateau

The property is near Fernie, British Columbia and is located in the Elk Valley, near the Elk River. The property itself goes from lots of trees to almost a meadow area.

Here are a few of the ideas we have bashed around the shop:
Elk Valley Lodge
Riverstone Lodge
The Meadows Manor
Riverside Manor

Who knows?
Thanks again,
Steve

Lead with Chateau and find a French expression that rolls off the tongue nicely.

Chateau du Mont, for instance, but not a suggestion.

How would you say Chateau Meadow Hideaway in French?

"Manor" reminds me of a nursing home, and personally, I think since their are two names (Frasier & Trapper) for the owner's, I'd just stay away from using the names.

I like the word "timbers".

How 'bout
"Timbers Lodge"
or ... "Riverview Timbers"

How about

Chateau pres de Rive

(Pronounced like Shatow prayer duh Reeve) (try to make "prayer" one syllable...it's an "r" thang.)

I pulled out my dictionaire on zees one. I hope it's put together right...means Chateau by the river...if I haven't just made an absolute fool of myself...hehehe!

Nettie, I looked up timber

Chateau de Timbre (Chateau of timber)

Now to make things intresting I looked up hideaway...

Cachette de Timbre or Cachette pres de Rive

Meadow and view make me think it's a rehab gig hehehe!
