Did you know.......

That in Australia.......

In Victoria, it is illegal to wear hot pink pants after
midday Sunday.(Take note Jay!)

It is illegal to walk on the right hand side of a footpath.

In Victoria, only licensed electricians may change a light
bulb. The fine for not abiding by this law is 10 pounds.

It is illegal to roam the streets wearing black clothes,
felt shoes and black shoe polish on your face as these
items are the tools of a cat burglar.

Children may not purchase cigarettes, but they may smoke
them.

In Victoria, you must have a neck to knee swimsuit in order
to swim at Brighton Beach.

In Tasmania, until the Port Arthur Killings it was legal to
own an AK-47 but not legal to be gay.

Disclaimer: The above laws are posted in fun and in no way ment to insult Australians, Tasmanians, people who wear hot pink shorts, smokers or people who burgle cats.....

They must be old laws because Aus. has been using dollars and cents since 1966. I've never heard this nonsense before but like Rob says Victorians are a weird mob!! I think someone is having a lend of you adrienne!!
another weird thing I found about the US is that I drove all the way to The Jack Daniells distillery and then was not allowed to sample the product because it is in a dry county??.

You think thats weird...
In the US you can own an AK47 but you can't drive in bare feet!
I'm with Dave, I think someone might be pulling your leg Adrienne.

I wish it was that easy, ADDrienne, I'd change 2 or 3 light bulbs right now if I thought it was the way to lose 30 pounds. Funny they don't take any money off you...

Most are not true..but..

In Victoria, it is illegal to wear hot pink pants after
midday Sunday.(Take note Jay!)

So it should be - for men

It is illegal to walk on the right hand side of a footpath.

In Victoria, only licensed electricians may change a light
bulb. The fine for not abiding by this law is 10 pounds.

Maybe technically still a law but certainly not enforced.

It is illegal to roam the streets wearing black clothes,
felt shoes and black shoe polish on your face as these
items are the tools of a cat burglar.

Never heard that one! It is required to remove bike helmets before entering a bank though.

Children may not purchase cigarettes, but they may smoke
them.

True, one can be enforced the other cannot (except by parents)

In Victoria, you must have a neck to knee swimsuit in order
to swim at Brighton Beach.

Not true, they probably go topless now.

In Tasmania, until the Port Arthur Killings it was legal to
own an AK-47 but not legal to be gay.

Not true in either case. It has been legal to be homosexual for about 4 years - much as I disagree with it.

I wonder what even stranger laws we will all have with world events as they are.
It will soon be illegal to send any white powder through the mail.
Strange times we live in.

Adrienne, want some odd laws? Come to Louisiana. We still have archaic laws from when we were under french rule and spanish rule. Guess the only reason some of them haven't changed is that no one has spent the money to pay off the renown Louisiana politicians!

adrieanne, do u beleive everything your told?

considering most of our beaches are either topless or 'take the whole bloody lot of if you like mate' i can't see the neck to knee as a real law now days

and like everyone said victorians are a tad on the strange side

my personal fav is that horses still have right of way on the sydney harbour bridge! even in 12 lanes of traffic.... sure the'd get away with it too hehehe

our kids have to be 18 in nsw to buy cig's and the same age to smoke em! at $13 per pack i'm wondering where they'd get the money anyway.

they have to be 18 to buy 'any' knife... that means if i send one of the younger ones to buy me plastic picnic utensils they can get everything except the knives

like rod said, our mob are still guilty untill proven otherwise

the road worthy vehicle laws here are way stronger than up-over, i was amazed what your mob can legally have on the road

cheers

In QLD, we're not as weird as the people further south Yes, horses still have the right of way on the road, but hmmm.. at least we don't need to name a beer after our state to remind us where we're from

And the language! Hmmm... Victorian people: Didcha see that most of those "laws" there are victorian?

(no offence to victorian people, of course... We still luv ya!!!)
