This is really not sign related but I know that I can get an answer here.

How do I delete the list of searches that is saved with each search engine. Example: In Yahoo I have about 10 search subjects for travel (buses, car rentals, etc.). How do I get rid of these? I've tried "Delete" and it will delete the posting from the screen, but not from the drop down menu.

I know that I can delete saved sites and I can clear recently used sites through "Tools - Options", but this has no effect on the search engines' memory.

Any suggestions?

Hi Ray:

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you trying to remove Favorites (MSIE) / Bookmarks (NetscapeNav)? That's easy to do under your Organize Favorites / Edit Bookmarks.

Or do you have search preferences setup with Yahoo ... like a MyYahoo account? If so you need to go in an modify your preferences.

Hope this is on target. Regards,

Jim

If I understand you right you want to eliminate outdated items from you auto complete folder which causes the drop down menu when you start typing in the address bar. You can clear the form by going to tools>options>content>auto complete and click clear forms.... hope thats what your looking for.

Let me try to explain it better: When I go to the search engines (like Yahoo) to type in a subject for the engine to search for there will be a drop down menu of all the past search subjects. How do I get rid of these?

Hi Ray,
Try going to: tools > internet options > content and then click on the auto complete button. I just have the box checked to keep passwords. After you make the changes then hit the clear forms button and I think it will clear out the addresses. Hit OK and your done except for clearing your history folder.

Maybe this is what you're asking . . .

That's it, Tony. That was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the quick response.

Just a shot in the dark here, Ray, but perhaps if you had a Mac, you wouldnt be having all these problems.

See you in AC buddy -

Thanks for the suggestion, Dan. I just don't like winding up that rubber band with a Mac.

Actually, the problem is not with the computer; it's the nut trying to operate the thing.

Talked to USSC just a few minutes ago about last minute details. I'm looking forward to seeing you there. Maybe we can talk about a web site.
