I am just about to order a heat press for doing shirts. I am now looking for distributors of unprinted shirts and hats. Also looking for plain mouse pads and anything else that I can print on.
Any suggestions would also be appreciated.

You are buying a heat press to do shirts. To do what? Heat them?
IMHO, buying a heat press before I knew where to buy shirts, hats and whatever else would seem to me like a design for disaster. Next thing you'll ask us will be " do you know where I could sell these "

Joey is a stepping razor today, but he's right. You got a lot of research to do if you think a heat press will give you the ability to do transfers and make some cash. That is the small change item. Cutting CadCut is time consumeing. Buying transfers is expensive, and never can get exactly what you want with a short lead time. Are you thinking about printing on inkjet paper? Screenprinting? What is the matter with Joey??? Asking questions is what this board is about. There is some money to be made with shirts and your press will pay for itself quickly. Are you using an edge foil or a dye sublimation inkjet ink? Dye sublimation inkjet requires at least 50 % polyester in the fabric and a white or grey colour. Sawgrass recommends their shirts but try any 50/50 shirt/ Last week I sublimated a logo onto a sheer fabric for a trade show display. Came out pretty good. The edge will transfer to just about anything except for dark colours and there is a way around that.

We use a company called Alpha Shirt 800-523-4585...find a local one to you...they are all over the place. Also, a company called Broder Brothers. I suggest you get 30 day terms...makes life a lot easier. Watch your shipping costs.

When I got my Edge 2 I ordered some heat transfer materials so I could try them out. I got a lightly used press for a hundred bucks. I never advertise shirt transfers but when existing clients want their 4-color process logos on shirts I show them my Island Sign shirts. I have had many happy customers paying $25 per shirt for a half dozen instead of over $200 in film, screen, & set-up charges just to get $8 shirts. My press paid for itself in a few hours.
