ok... i'm stumped. the customer gave me their logo as a QuarkXpress file. i can open the file (in Quark) and save it as an EPS file, but i can't import it into my sign cutting software (Vinyl Express). i tried opening it in Illustrator, and there's "something" there, but i guess its not a vector file. i'm sure this has come up before... what do i do?

Try this.....

1) Select image
2) Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S
3) In the "Save Page As EPS" window, look to the lower right and locate the "Data" option. Choose ASCII. Then save the file.
4) Go to Sign Wizard and import as a vectored EPS file.

These steps work for me when I bring a Quark file into Corel.

Good Luck!

thanks Glen - it was the "ASCII" part that got me. (it STILL looked funky when i imported it, and i still had to take it through Illustrator, but i think the weird letter spacing may have been some kerning preference or something. the actual letter shapes were formed correctly, the letters just bunched up funny). bleh. i'll know to charge extra for Quark jobs next time.
