I know it is still six months and a whole snow filled winter away, but, I want you guys that may have thoughts of attending to think about this...... I want to have some of you very talented individuals to entertain the thought of doing a workshop in your field of expertise. i.e. (Pat N.) a carved and gilded pineapple, (Amy B.) letters and logos cut out with the RotoZip, (P.King) hand lettering, (Timi) freehand at most anything, (Cheryl) handcarved seashell, (Judy P.) car windshield lettering, (Don H.) hanging from a bo'sons chair on a freakin water tower, (R.T.) airbrushing techniques, (Steve & Barb) get us all involved in the new HeadTV and LetterHeads membership drive. (volunteer)business techniques, (volunteer) computer skills, etc, etc, etc, Get my drift ??? There are a LOT of folks that have sent me e-mails or have called that are new to the trade and want to learn new techniques ...... just as WE were at one time !!! So, in about 4 months I will be sending out the printed "game plan" to all who give me a mailing address. And, I, personally, will be the host and COOK for some very fine "down home" cooking the old fashioned way..... on a 1930 Home Comfort wood burning stove !!!! So, plan now, and make the effort to attend the "Spring Fling, A Gathering of Craftsmen" ..... March 22,23 & 24 2002.
'Cause, you see.... it's like this . . .. I tore the sign off my shop, sawed it up and chunked it in the TRASH !!!
Please, make plans now .. . hope to see you then !!!

John, I think Pat would assume the role, assigned or not. If R.T. does the airbrush seminar, can we film it and run it back in slow motion, so we can actually see what he does? If I could add a segment to the meet - how about odd tools and timesavers that we've all developed over the years. Lots of people at Duck Soup had never seen a Roto-Zip until you showed up with one. I have a home-made plastic heater/bender that's kinda cool, and I'm sure lots of folks have similar market-expanders to share, as well as simple methods of doing daily tasks. I find that after a Letterhead meet, some of the best tips I pick up are ways of streamlining mundane elements of the biz and products I didn't know existed. Looking forward to your meet. Let me know if I can help in any way.

I plan to keep my "chair" on the ground this time, but I would be more than happy to be the official "watcher and learner" of all of the great demos that are going to take place.

Well John, it is sounding better and better. This is going to be a great opportunity to learn. Think I'll spend less time talking and more at work this time. Just keep the "Old Quacker" away from me so I can consentrate!

Grab Timi for pictorials, he is super in that field. I would like to help out wherever I can with lettering (the old fashioned way), carving and even pictorials. Sounds like this could be a memorable meet.

Monte Jumper said it best: {"Work Shops" can't be a better way to glean an intense education in a short period of time. You will find that these "workshops" are generally made up of the most zealous of our band of gypsies"}. So, with that in mind, I am structuring my meet more towards an "organized" show and tell atmosphere. Now, those of you that have a particular skill and would like to strut yer stuff..... now is the time!! And, like Sonny said, maybe show off some unique tools you have perfected out of the most ordinary materials. A few years ago, I attended a meet where John Cox and Gary Anderson gave a short workshop. Those two hours stick with me more than anything I have ever learned. WOW... this is gonna be FUN !!!!

Here we go again! I still haven't gotten a decent nights sleep since PKings meet and now here you go, stirrin' the pot for another awesome adventure!
I'm happy to contribute whatever I can, possibly something like; How to carve without chizels! On the line of what Sonny said, you'd be amazed at what you can come up with in a pinch...
Looking forward to seeing the 'not-so-tall' Judy paint windshields.
