I use frog juice over waterbased acrylics, but that's about all the info I can offer ya. =)
20 year high gloss exterior paint.. why do you need to use any kind of clear over it? It sounds like it would be fine, unless what yer really lookin for is a hard surface that the Sherwin Williams paint doesnt offer?

Pelucid??? Yep. We use mostly acrylic latex paints now on all of our carvings. The Pelucid seals it permanently, no matter what the base. Call if you have questions.

Mike.....I am finishing a sandblasted sign and due to using lettering enamels on the border and latex "superpaint" on the background and letters there is a BIG difference in the gloss of the two finishes.....you probably are wondering why did you use the 2 types of paint?....well I liked the easy clean up with spraying the waterbased versus the bulletin colors and I felt the bulletin colors lacked the durability of the waterbased ESPECIALLY since the background is MAROON which fails miserably as far as durability is concerned.
The sherwin williams guy said he thought any oil based finish over a waterbased finish could cause problems because of the different expansion/contraction rates of oil based vs. waterbased.
