I have had the opportunity to try a couple of versions of Corel Draw and feel that for what I use the program for that #7 would suit me fine. Any local computer stores only seem to have the most current version and cannot order an older one. I would like to get a registered version of 7 so I have the discs and manuals.

Just go to EBay and do a search on Corel Draw. 7 goes cheap. The OEM versions don't have manuals. Just be sure the one you bid on does have manuals.

Bevin, I have a copy of 7, but would suggest 8 or 9. Both are much better in my opinion. In fact I didn't like 7 at all, but used it for over 2 years. I now use 9 and am much happier. Tracing is much better than 7. Much easier optioning. 7 should sell on ebay for less than 40.00. I only gave 70.00 last year for 9 as an oem version there. I jumped 8 which many think was the better or the bunch. Bronzeo

Bevin, I bought a 2 CD version of Corel 7 on e-bay for $12 and at the same time there were the three manuals for sale on e-bay for about $5. Just keep checking.

jack, 7 was the last true corel draw and the most stable as long as you got V7 REV 3.67...and when they put 8 out it had a lot of code from a program called XARA....which corel contracted with to sell their product but only stripped code from XARA and added it to corel 8....9 and 10 also have same code .....i got XARA 2.0 nice little program, with twice the speed of corel...but a lot of stuff ill never use to make signs..you got 9....try to fit text to path..it screws it up if you try to put text on the bottom curve..

Joe, I don't believe that mine does. I know I have used that function and don't recall any probs except having to use the "put on other side" command to get it to the right side of the curve. I used 7 quite extensivly before going to nine. The changover took a little effort, but I have never been sorry. The only problem that I have at present is getting my printer to understand corel's color palates. This could be in my printer, and probably a driver. It seems to print Corel colors in only a range of maybe 256 or maybe less.

Joe, The only time I have had a jumbling of text on that procedure, is when the path is not long enough to handle the size of copy I have for it. Sounds like the path is not long enough.....I just went a tried it. The only problem, was I couldn't get the copy to go on the correct side of the circle....I simply drew an arch over the bottom half of the circle and it allowed even that. Then I just deleted the arch, and placed the copy where I wanted it. Took about 20 seconds. I tried reducing the arch and the text jumbled because it was too large for the path length. Hopefully this was your problem. It would be a shame to remain on Corel 7 for that problem. 8 or 9 blows it away. Like I said, I used it for about 2 years, not knowing that 8 was a much better program.
