Hi Heads! Have you been wondering where I was? Or maybe I shouldn't flatter myself...but anyhoo, if you're interested, on October 6th from 10-5, I will have a small booth at the Mars Applefest. My friend Steve Sesko is coming into town, and he will do some pinstriping while I hack out a few non-dirty panels. (if I can- you know me!) Even if you don't show up to paint, it's a good little Fall festival. They have everything from pierogies to plastic canvas pumpkins. It would be a nice opportunity to view the town of Mars, PA. As far as Letterheads on Mars, the 2002 Letterhead meet goes, it's 99% on, still waiting for final approval. Folks in Mars are already gossipping about it. I have the Chamber of Commerce helping me out. Bill Krupinski has promised to do the T-Shirt art, and I've asked Mike Meyer to do the logo. An old friend from Pittsburgh, Bill Berberich, has volunteered to do the large central mural design. It will be a collage of images from the town's history. He's been an outdoor pictorial artist for years, doing tons of billboards. I think we'll put it on the wall of the Mars Foodland. Other ideas I have are- new signs for the 100-yr-old train station which is being renovated, a Coca-cola type wall sign for the hardware store, maybe re-doing an old wall dog in town, or a new town sign. Events could be- a parade, a classic car show, a street dance, local vendors selling stuff, maybe even some Civil War reenactors. I would appreciate any suggestions or help- I am trying to get the ball rolling! Love- JILL ps: Hey Slewfoot, I was only teasing about bein' "praignint". Would I do a thing like that?

Jill You know I'm already in for slave labor for the walldog next August. (Since you're not on here much, I've taken to being the one to blatantly hype it on chat) I'm also planning on coming up next weekend, as long as nothing goes wrong. Hope to see ya Saturday.

Hello again, Heads! Despite the nipple-y weather, our micro-mini meet was fun. The citizens of Mars were Nosy Parkers, but in a nice way. I jotted on our easel w/a Magic Marker stuff like "Genuine Arteests" "We use REAL Paint!" "Professional Signpainters" & "Don't try this at home!" Everyone is psyched(& PSYCHO) about the Letterheads arriving on Mars. Steve, having been to Mazeppa, agreed that Mars is the perfect small town to host a meet. The motels are right handy, and John Watson from the historical society has offered his farm to would-be campers, as long as I can get a port-o-potty delivered. Steve & I did several panels, and worked on some lick-n-stick "God Bless America" stuff. We also face-painted on kids! (not with 1-Shot tho) All in all, we raised about $85 to go into the fund for the meet- I plan to open up the checking account this week. Chris King showed up, still on fire from Duck Soup. She's a sweetie, I'm so glad I got to meet her. She loved the town, and is bursting with ideas for panels. She was a big help! Jill, I am glad you did not use 1-shot on the kids faces They did like the pumpkins and ghosts on their faces. Sorry I did not get to see Chris King but I was glad to see you and Steve. I like the pinstriping you did, especially the brush you were using. Thanks for your card and I will need directions for the farm for camping if I can make it. It is a nice area and thanks for pointing out the buildings that will be painted. We had a nice trip with all the colors of the trees at this time of year. I also got to see Washington, Pa as I plan to go if it happens next year. It got colder then I thought it would but the camping was fun. We even made it to The Wilds - www.thewilds.org to see the animals roaming free in groups. Hope to see you next year, Debbie
