Hey!! I lucked out on a decision to purchase an anti-virus program today!
I have always hated the way the the programs used up resources and were a general pain in the butt...but I decided it was time to quit living a charmed life and buy an anti-virus program. I checked out Norton's website and their newest version was available for download for $59 Cdn.(no CD..no manual etc.) Picked up the phone and called Business Depot...They had it in a box (with CD and manual) for $59 Cdn. SO.. Since I was going to town anyway I bought it at Business Depot...Guess What!!!!! It came with a $30 Cdn. "mail-in" rebate!!!!!
Lesson learned...check out the pricing!!!!!!
PS. It loaded good, found no viruses, and seems to work pretty well (read that...no noticible slowing down of the system..other than, maybe, a bit slower bootup sequence)
So far.. so good!..I'll keep ya notified of ANY problems that appear as a result of having an anti-virus thing working in the background all the time!!!!!

Well Dave, I was hoping I wouldn't see the word Norton anywhere in your post. Ours gives us nothing but grief. Same with McAfee. I've never found one that's worked seamless yet.
But do keep us posted. They all seem to run great at the beginning. I hope you can prove that statement wrong.

Several years ago, Sarah from Arkansas gave a tesimony about an anti-virus software she discovered that picked up stuff Norton and McAfee missed. I checked ot the ratings on this and got it. I update it regularly online, in half a minute. Several times it has lit my screen with a warning that a virus was in an incoming email and it deleted it. It has effectively cleaned several things from my system and has never caused any trouble. Check out avp.com
