I think I have to give a public apology to the owners and members of this board.

I did not mean to start a conflict of such issues in a sensitive time.
I now know that some take things for granted an other need acknowledgement.
There is no doubt that both countries will help each other in times of needs.

As the history of the past shows us when the Halifax Harbour explosion happen there were 10's of thousands of life lost or injuried.
And the people of greater Maine shipped personnel as well as supplies to help all those in need.

This was over 80 years ago and every year we send the tallest X-mas tree we can find to the city hall of Boston in rememberance of their help.

We will do the same again if needed. and I know you will too.

I know all Canadians will continue to help in supplies for you. and that like yourselves it is in our nature to help people through hard times.

I am sorry once again for my outspoken thoughts.

Stephen...........
As far as I'm concerned, You don't owe anyone any apology for speaking your mind, and/or your heart!

All of us just need to remember that this is just a BB on a web-site, with all kinds of different people with different ideas as to how the world works..........The funniest part is, every single one of us honestly believe that they alone have the only right answer to it all.............Cracks me up.......

Any time ya want to talk politics, or religion, ya gotta get prepared for all the crap that is sure to follow, no matter what you say......20 people are gonna jump on ya, and take it to the lowest common denominator.........GUARANTEED !!

I hate it when I find myself all caught up in some pointless bunch of babbeling, and rock throwing, cause it takes time out of my life for the things that really matter to me, and thats MY FAMILY, my painting, my engraving, and in general, doing something usful.!! Which hanging out on this BB ain't !! It's a big waste of my time!!
I haven't met anyone here that I don't really like, both in person and on the board, but when it really comes down to it..........The Allans ain't on nobodys Xmas card list around here, so why take any of this stuff too personal..........Gotta take my own advise, and "GET A GRIP!!".....hahahah!

Bottom Line Stephen......Yer OK in my book.......ya jist got a bunch of "nutbag" ideas............... Hell, "everybody" knows that I"M the only one with ALL the answers........jist axe me.........hahahah!!!

Take Care & Ride Safe..........!!

Tell ya what......

Take Peter Jennings back and we'll call it even.

But seriously, don't sweat it. Emotions are running high everywhere.

*********

On second thought, if you take Peter Jennings back and send us Rex Murphy, we'll call it even.

Hey Stephen,

I think the way you said it was more offensive to most than what you actually said. (if I'm wrong, sorry for that too?) I don't feel your initial thoughts were out of line as many feel the way you do too, just don't wish to speak up because of what happened to you on your last post.

It's just sad to see finger pointing rather than stating one's views and discussing them in a rational manner.

You were very gracious to acknowledge that you may have offended Americans.

The main reason I didn't reply to your original post Steven, is I thought it was something said with emotion, and sometimes the meaning is misunderstood, or said at a time when emotions are running like water over the falls and not meant in the fashion it was given.
You're a big person to apologize, and I respect you greatly for that.

What did you say that was so bad? Your post never put anyone else down. There was nothing in it meant to embaress or ridicule any of your friends here. Many Canadians expressed the same feelings. Emotions are running high right now. Who wants to be anyone's second or third best friend at the best of times?

CJ is right when he says this is just a message board. It's just a program, sitting on a computer in N. Carolina that allows us all to communicate with each other. I compare it to the buildings where we hold "real live" meets.

The secret of Letterville is the people. You all have real names, real business, real families, real dreams and yes, real challenges and frustrations. We "waste" time here on the BB, but we also travel great distances to be with each other in person.

Is it a waste of time? That might be a good question for the Letterville poll. I know our life would be much different without this BB, but we are probally too involved to really be objective. I wonder how many others feel the same way as CJ?

Steve.....
Unfortunatly you will never find out how many people really feel one way or the other about this place, by using a poll, or any other method.

You might try starting a new thread asking folks their views on the pros and cons of this place.
But you will still only ge t a response from that same handful of people that post here regularly.

You say you have 2000 or so registered people on this site...........Do the math.....!!That should tell ya something.
Where are the rest of em...??

I'm way too busy right now, and won't be around here much any more, but if you start the thread, I'll spend the time to tell you exactly what "I Think"........I doubt many others will do the same..........

If not...........Color Me Gone......!!

Stephen....the reason that I didn't reply to you original post is that I am trying to behave in a little less agressive manner! (There are ppl complaining that I run rough shod over them)

Back to the subject....Canada is not a friend, Canada is family! And I think that you will find that most Americans feel the same!

No apaology necessary!

I have to agree with jd3 as to not replying to your original post.

I also tend to think of Canada more as a part of US, rather than just a neighbor or friend.

Although I do not feel an apology was necessary, yours is graciously accepted.

I think I ought to apologize as well. I've went back and re-read my reply, and I'm pretty well disgusted by my lack of professionalism.

Well I'm off to edit that post out. I'll try to keep my wits about me from here on.

Thank you friends.

And remember...
"We will stand on guard for thee."
In ,your times of trouble and our own.

Glen...
You can keep Peter Jennings because Rex Murphy is never leaving this Country!
I think he will or should be the next P.M.
A solid man from the East Coast of Canada.

Not that I don't like the Man in office right now as he has very good leadership. (Mr.J.C.)

Thanks again to all, for being friends of this BullBoard.

As Warner Brothers would say...
(On with the show once again!)
