---------- then today I heard an interesting commercial on the radio ... in a pitch for bus advertising the bus company took one clients signs and turned them upside down ... when people started calling the company to tell them the bus company screwed up it made them realize what an advertising value it was ... at least that was the pitch.

There's a guy in Phoenix that runs a limo company.
When he started his business, he was 19 years old, that was just a few years ago.
He rents out the limos to people for reasons that most would rent out a limo for, but he also plasters advertising all over the limos and companies pay him for that.
He says the advertising is the money maker, but having the limo rented out and roaming the streets is how he gains more advertisers.
He doesnt use your average everyday limos though. He uses Stretched Hummers and SUV's.. things that would really catch attention.
Nope, he didnt buy the limos either. He also advertises the limo 'supplier' in turn for use of the limos!
Talk about a free ride!
I saw this in a news story on TV when I first moved to AZ, and they said in his first year that kid made a million bucks.

They already DO pay us to wear T shirts with their names on them, as well as having us use mugs, pens, pencils, etc.... They're called ad specialty or promotional items; all those freebees given away at conventions, race tracks, concerts, etc. The scary part is that my kid's pay THEM to wear their logo (Nike, Old Navy, Abercrombie, ad nauseum).
