well as of today our community has been able to raise close to $15,000 for a relief fund for emergency personnel out in new york through the sale of t-shirts. the fire dept. here is handling sales and distribution and folks have come out to help us get the shirts done. response has been overwellming...the news papers, radio and tv stations have all helped out. it feels good to be able to do something with our community that will help others. the shirts are white with a blue and red print on them...they look patriotic of course...but without any negative undertones...the message is easily understood but can be interpreted in a couple different ways. signed, david butler

I'm sure David will return to tell us more about this project, but until then his letter to us will serve.
"well steve, the morning after the attack we were having breakfast in town as usual as could be...this retired mail man that i knew came over with this idea...
we rendered a graphic to reflect his concept and then began printing it on t-shirts...the fire dept. here in syracuse has been the distribution center for all of this and as of yesterday our community has been able to raise over $12,000. we are not charging for our efforts and folks are eager to help out here. if this grows much bigger, and we hope it does, a largern printing co. near by is willing to set their presses up.
the design is symbolic to the red, white and blue. the blue sky, the white cloud and the usa in red under that to represent one nation under god. the date of the attack under that.
we are selling the shirts, all sizes for $10.00 and would be willing to share the design to any who would like to help in this effort. all of these funds will be going to the rescue personnel out in new york."
