I wanted to let you know that we are going to begin construction and painting of a Memorial Wall, specifically dedicated - and naming - victims on the flights who were from Los Angeles. Scheduled for Dedication Oct. 14, 2001. 16' x 48' Everyone wants to reach out. Our company and some other local Los Angeles business are donating the materials, Wall Space and we are going to do our thing.
I am asking for your support by way of awareness. Any assistance you can provide in letting people know about this is appreciated. I welcome anyone who wants to help in any way. Bring a brush if you have one!
Construction of MDO panels will begin 9/24/01, in Marina Del Rey, CA. Marina Del Rey is the port city for many private boats and is right next to LAX.
My company, Fat Jimmy, Inc., is the concept holder, supporting us are: Bartels' Harley-Davidson - Wall Space and Materials, Dedication Fund Raising Event location! McLogan Supply Co. - in cooperation with 1-Shot, donating all Paint and Vinyl Supplies! Anderson Plywood - can you say 24 sheets of MDO! The Home Depot - all the little stuff that plays such a big part! Route 66 Riders, whose front parking lot is where the mural goes, is setting up a blood drive for 10/14/01 and a Red Cross Donation Drop Off Center.
If you know any Wall Dogs, Letterheads or PinHeads that want to paint the coast Red White and Blue over the next few weeks, please put them in touch.

Nice gesture! I am sure it will be a positive contribution for all. I can't help but think though, that in much the same ways that the victims remains are somewhat intwined into a mass ruin, so too is the sympathy steeping in all of our hearts focused on the entire group as one. I wouldn't leave out L.A. residents who are victims from the ground, or non resident victims with family in L.A., or anyone else. I would leave out the names & Memorialize the Day. But that's just me. It is a wonderful idea under any circumstances.
