And, we are home safe and sound at 7:45. Passed Judy at the half way point, too !!
Pat, this is one of the best meets I have been to in a long time!! They are ALL good, but, it is the compassion of the trade that bonds and the familiar faces and meeting new ones that really make it work for the better and make you look forward to the next one !!!
Mine will be in the early spring as soon as I get some input for March or April on what will be good for everyone.

Made it home by dinnertime. I didn't see this post before I added a new thread, but I'd like to add that if anyone could post a picture of the killer fridge Rod Tickle painted (and won by Don Coplen) it would drop the collective jaws of Letterville. Safe trip to all who are still on the road. Thanks again, Bobbie and Pat.

Glad you all got back safe and sound

Made it home about an hour ago. Left McCalla around 6:45pm and made a pit stop in Mt.Olive to see my sweetie on the way home. I left Rod in Alabama and hopefully he will be able to catch all his connecting flights out of there and be on his way to Oz by about 8pm tomorrow night (tonight). Let's all keep an eye out for a lost Aussie because he had the schedule from hell the last we talked. He'll be on 3-4 different planes before he even makes it out of the states!! Hopefully he'll be back home to his family that is so worried about him in a few days. He picked a not so good time to come here and I think we should feel a bit thankful that he did make it to the meet and wasn't involved in all the tragedy that could have kept him away. I spoke with his wife today and she sounded really relieved that he was finally going to get to come home. I know his 3 little girls feel the same way. So, To Pat King and Rod Tickle:
Thanks guys, this was a really good meet. I know Pat put in a tremendous amount of work into pulling this off. It showed big time. Rod worked hard after the fact. This man doesn't stop and anyone that has seen him work can tell that he not only is one of the best, he has a passion for it. Thanks again Pat and Rod for making this a helluva good time and we can't forget Pat's wife Bobbie (Duckette) because we know she put in some elbow grease and kept things flowing throughout the whole thing.
See ya,
R.T.

Dora and I got home about 8:00 last night. One grandson was sleeping, the other was crying. My daughter was trying to comfort him. We said a short Hi and Goodnight, and were in bed by 9:00. I haven't gone to bed that early in ages. But, then again, I haven't had that much fun in one weekend in ages.

Like everyone else, I was able to meet a lot of new friends and visit with them and a bunch of old friends.

Thanks Pat and Bobbie, for having us down, and making it such a great time.

We made it back to Memphis about 6:30. Del wanted to do a little sightseeing and see some river traffic. After telling him how many barges go up and down the Mighty Mississippi, wouldn't you know river traffic was non existant, not to mention parking spots along the river. I had to ride over the bridge to Arkansas so he could add one more state to his list. We stopped by Graceland and took a few pics. I also talked him into signing the wall We headed back to my place stopping only to get the obligitory stalk of cotton: He headed out about ( hopeing to make St. Louis.

Hey Pat! We made it last night around 7:30. Thanks so much for all the fun. I met a lot of great people and learned a lot of great things.

Thanks to all of you who helped me out with the painting techniques (I really stink at lettering!!).

John Smith, thanks for the great info on sandblasting and letting me play with the Rotozip. That was brave!

Pat, be sure to tell Bobbi that the food and accomodations were fantastic! Thanks again!

Don Coplen, I'll drive down to St. Pete to get my fridge!! You bum!

Nancie and I made it in last night, right before it got dark. I rested awhile, and then I jumped in chat for a few and had to go fall over. As Si so eloquently put it, I had the afterglow!

It was so nice to turn off the radio, and be surrounded by friends for a few days. I may never come down...it was that great!

Thank you again Pat and Bobbi!

Made it home about 3:30pm. I wanted to
stay alittle longer to say so long to
everyone but it was looking alot like
rain Sunday morning. But I managed to
dodge the rain all the way home. I enjoyed
this meet probably more than any other that
I've been to in along time.

Thanks so much Pat and Bobbie.

a bike doesn't leave reminders, don't
believe a word. I have a sore ....well,
anyway...it's sore. Thanks again for a
great time.

Barb and I just walked in the door at 7:30pm Monday night...about 30 minutes ago.
Were we really in Alabama or was it all a dream?

We made good time. Left Duck Soup just before 4pm Sunday. After a brief stop at a Shoneys in Nashville, we never stopped until Cincinnati. Spent the night in the van and drove straight thru today.

Thanks for a great meet Pat and Bobbi. We'll be back after we get some rest with photos and some of our favorite memories.

How in the H... did Steve & Barb get home before I did? Guess I lolly-gag better than I do signs!
Stayed over Sun. night and got back almost home at 3 m. But just got home! I don't think there are any words that can explain the absolute joy I felt in meeting all of ya. I did learn a lot. I now have confidence that was not there before. In my lifetime I have been blessed to meet lots of wonderful folks but I can honestly say that none can compare to Letterheads. I love each and every one of you.
Thanks Pat and Bobbi for not only a wonderful time, but for a life changing experience. Special thanks to Pat, Judy, Monte, Don, and Mark Farrrr for all the tips and fellowship.
You are stuck with me now! I'm hooked!

Pat,

We just rolled in...Dropped Don and the 'fridge' off, safe and sound.

All is well here, we were happy to see that everything was intact, since a storm near hurricane strength, passed through our area while we were at the meet.

We had a wonderful time at Duck Doup! It was nice to see old friends and make new ones.

Bobbie, the food was awesome!

I can elaborate later, I'm beat!

See ya's,
Cher.

I stopped off in Pikeville, KY Sunday night. got home around 5 Monday after picking up the weener mutt at the kennel. Had to turn around and take him to the vet 30+ miles away as when I picked him up, he had rubbed the corner of his eye on the cage and it was bleeding (I was freaking out). He's ok, just some ointment to put on it for the next week.

I'm still a little exhausted. Just plugged my puter in about an hour ago. Strange feeling to not see it for over a week. I'm fixin to go take another nap, I feel like I haven't slept in a week. It was tiring with driving 2000 miles and spending 16 hour days at Pat and Bobbi's. Given the opportunity, I'd do it again.

BTW, I got several incredible pictures of the fridge.... I don't have any way to host them, but if someone wants to email me (chrisk@indianaconnect.com), I'll scan em and email them so someone else can post.

WOW!! I dont know where to begin...

I have finally arrived back home in oz after the flight from hell.
After the meet i hung around and helped a little to tidy up, had a quick bite to eat then hit the sack. After a speed sleep of about 4 hours Pat was on my case to get out of bed and head for the airport(2am)I got to the airport at 3, flew out at 7am monday morning, flight was delayed. Arrived in Chicago as my other flight was boarding (about 3 miles down the terminal)just made it on board, flew to Denver, did some sight seeing of the airport for a few hours then headed for Vancouver. After getting thru customs, immigration long ques and hours of doing nothing I headed for Hawwaii. Another delayed flight and a heap of b.s i wasnt in the mood for we finally pulled out for Sydney. Once again delayed flights stranded me in Sydney but i felt i could almost walk home from there. A couple hours later i was in the arms of my 4 girls. After putting all my luggage in the car we drove another 3 hours till we got home (about 8pm wednesday night)all in all it was a verrrry long day, not sure how long it actually took (too mant time changes and a date line)but it was over 48 hours, with about 2-3 hours sleep if i was lucky.

I would like to firstly thank RT for all he did to make my stay in the states a great one. There are so many people to thank for the good times, like RT and Lynne, Monty and Pat, Coop and Trena ,and the rest of the gang at RTs pre meet party.
Pat and Bobbie for not only putting on a great meet but putting me up (or is that putting up with me) and feeding and taxiing me to the airport in the weee hours. Also EVERYONE at the meet.. it was so great to actually get there to meet a great deal of guys and gals whom i've only had the chance to chat with on chat before and this meet gave me the opportunity to meet them face to face along with everyone else at the meet. Also Steve and Barb for everything they have done in Letterville, with out this place where would we be?

Treasured memories!

Thanx to my "mates in the states"

Cheers!!

I was one of the first to leave for the meet and surely the last one back... after leaving George's sunday nite, it made it south of St. Louis.. had a good sleep and then the next day i made it to as far as Corncob, Neb... i added to my vegetation collection by pickin a cob of nebraska corn..everything was uneventful that day except flying out of kansas with tornado warnings on my tail... Dorothy was wrong when she said that theres noplace like home (when she reffered to Kansas) Tuesday morning i left the great corn husker state and made it to Mt. Rushmore where i turned into a tourist... as well as visiting one of the local caves... made it to Steve Barba's by 4 in the afternoon, and made another pitstop for the evening.... Steve is a great host and has a nice family...
Wednesday, i left Sturgis, S.D. around 7:30 and was at Custer's Battlefield around lunch.... tourist time again....native americans run the Custer Museum, and there gift shop has some real funny t-shirts... hahahahahahahaha good sense of hahaha...after another quick stop in Great Falls, i was at border by 9 pm .... took about 1/2 hour to get thru, with a full vehicle search... thankfully no cavity search though!!!!!!!from there it was another 6 hours home, but with a sleep break, i pulled into the pondersa at 6am....
total mileage 7709 km or 4817 miles.... was it worth it.. hell ya! would i do it again, hell ya, just not in the next few months....

It was truly the road trip of the millenium....
