I'm getting married on Friday, and have a fair number of family memebers scheduled to fly out of Philly, Newark or Boston on Wednesday and Thursday. I suspect that may be impossible.
But, just last Saturday I was having lunch at a deli in the World Trade Center. To think it no longer exists, along with two of the largest buildings I've ever seen, makes my wedding plan difficulties seem unimportant.
I can only hope and pray that as few lives as possible have been destroyed, as I'm sure everyone does. This is beyond belief.
Best Regards,
Jim

Hey Cher! I think we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
I served in the Navy during Desert Storm. This is a really bad situation. We will be at war soon. Last thing I want to do is leave my daughter right now. This really sucks!
LOL and God Bless the families and friends of all involved.

Hopefully the airports will be open by Thursday! Otherwise we will miss Duck Soup!
Worse yet...can you imagine what this fat ol' Arab is gonna have to go through at the security check point?
Watched the two towers collapse on TV... I pity the fire fighters and police that were under them!
Right now they are making "noises" about Osama bin Laden...gotta have a scapegoat! Hopefully, they will really investigate who was the mastermind! Seems to me that this was too complex, and the logistics too great; for such a small group to accomplish! Unless they had a country such as Iraq or Iran helping them!
I am sure President Bush will "clean them out" ...instead of tossing a few missles in their general direction, as Clinton did!

Amy- the world has been trying to kill us since your gramma was a little girl. This has nothing to do with Clinton, Bush or Big Macs. It has everything to do with the fact that we are Americans and are hated by many. It is sad but we will never change the minds of the many. This tradegy will affect us for the rest of time as we know it. We need not blame any one politician. President Bush neither caused nor could have prevented this unbelievable act. As American we need to support our leaders and not have knee jerk reactions to this.

Well, I'm not going to be able to attend "Duck Soup"...common sense and Pam's orders have taken over.
As some of you know, Pam owns a fairly busy travel agency. They fly alot of businesspeople and vacationers all over the world. Luckily, they did not have one customer scheduled to be in the air today.
On a sad note, one of my neighbors lost his cousin on the Boston flight that crashed into the WTT.

I think these terrorists have opened a bigger can of worms than has ever been opened before, This Disaster will probably be worse than Pearl Harbor as far as loss of lives and property.
I hesitate to go to Alabama wasting time and fuel that may be needed shortly. So as of now I cannot see how I can justify going. Sorry Pat. Keep the money for expenses. Bill Biggs

Having served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years, I have been exposed to or have been involved in several "skirmishes" of either political unrest abroad or outright terrorist attacks on my shipmates in Puerto Rico on Dec. 3rd, 1979. Like our president said, we will NOT hunker down and hide in fear. I, for one, will carry out my plans to be with my counterparts of the brush and chisel.... BUT, I will have the greatest reverence and respect for all who have suffered some loss, no matter how slight, in this horrible, horrible tragedy. We must stand together and show these cowards that we will come back stronger than ever before as a whole FREE country. But, we will give 110% to those that need our help!!!! Just my view as a veteran !!!

Right at this minute, the US border is closed. If that changes within the next day, we'll be on our way. Just my opinion, but if we allow these sort of terrorist attacks to change the way we live, they have accomplished a partial victory.
We just got off the phone with Pat and Bobbi. They have worked their butts off to make this meet happen. If you can get there, I urge you to do so.

I have spoke with Don Hulsey and we are in complete agreement, and as Steve has said above, if we put or lives on hold these people have won. From Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky we will be on our way on Thursday. Ready to share or combined talents, stories, friendship and I am sure a momnet to remember the tragedy of today. We will also miss those who could not make it to the meet to enjoy the hard work of the King family.

I'm still planning on coming down Pat. We will miss those of you who cannot make it or feel better not venturing out. Personally, with 5 big power plants supporting NY within a 20 minute range of me, I think I'll feel a lot better anywhere else.

For every person that does not get to make it to Duck Soup is just another victory for the terrorist. I certainly can understand someone not getting to come especially if you have to fly or cross a border. Even the gas prices have went up over 40 cents in just a few hours. I have already personally seen the work Pat and Bobbi have put into it, its a real shame that some bunch of cowards have caused all this pain. I'm with Steve if you can possibly make it please do. Maybe we can do something at the meet like a collection for the Red Cross or FEMA or something(just a thought).

Yes it is very sad day for many who lost their lives to some chicken **** bastards. My prayers go out to everyone of them. Many places are shut down at the present moment. Hopefully by tomorrow the regular airports will open up again. If the airport is open in San Jose Thursday morning, I will still go to Alabama.

Thanks, I've been waiting to see your reply regarding DUCK SOUP.

I couldn't agree with you more... We, Americans are going to see and feel a much greater unity than ever before.
I have been sickened by todays attacks and the loss of inocent lives. It was difficult to greet people and depart without the usual "have a good day" and a smile.
I can't help but to be reminded of the book I read, by Steven King, The Stand. Good verses evil. I'm being drawn to your meet and I feel good about it. I know this meet WILL be 'very' special.
I accept my fate and look forward to uniting with my neighbors here in Letterville.

Barb and I have decided to hop in the van and head for the border. It's 10pm here and we have a 4 hour drive to Detroit. We hear the border is open, but we can expect a 3-4 hour wait to get across.
If we get across, we'll drive South and try to find a WalMart to campout in. We won't be able to chat with you all for a day or two, but our thoughts are with you.
Hope to see you in a couple days.

The rescent tragedy certainly sheds a dark cloud over any type of celebration, and I am sure that more than a few pepole will be thinking twice before getting on a plane about now. Being from the Boston area where the planes left from, I am worried about the chance that I may know some of the pepole on those plane. As an added fear I have a friend who works as a stuardist for United, I am too nervous to call and check. Although our meet is somewhat localized, we will also understand if you don't attend, but also want to incourage, pepole as Pat did to join together and stand up as Letterheads and as Americans! We will know alot more in the next day or 2 as we dig out and investigate.
John, If your still in the mood to paint and party, you are more than welcome at Mass Mayhem!

Like I told ya on the phone Pat...we are headed out thursday morning and we'll see you some time friday. Our only concern at his point is the availability of gas ...the fools around here made a run on all the stations today and as of night fall ther wasn't a drop to be had in this town.
About 9 oclock the tankers started rolling into town and morning will tell the story.
God bless New York city and all it's people>

Monte, you will be traveling through Mississippi. It is my understanding that price gouging in an emergency is NOT tolerated in that state. I plan to refuel in Meridian, the last large town before AL. on I-59.
The gas prices here are ridiculous. Business owners who did not goup on gas sold all of theirs. one of my sons filled all his vehicles (he has a business) he was told that by morning he would not be able to afford it. Two places in Ponchatoula wanted 4.50 per gal. I think that is criminal.
