This is a simple question that I'd like to keep simple. Not getting OT about how doing a such-and-such sign isn't what we really prefer to do. What type of sign job gets YOU the most profit?
or- What type of sign can make the most profit in the shortest time?
Remember - no Off-Topic rants....this one is only dealing with getting paid the most for the smallest investment. ------------------ Bruce Westfall Gene's Sign Co. Bremen, Ohio GeneSignCo.com bruce@frognet.net 740-569-4364 740-767-3636 home

Not any kinda sign but web design is my most profitable service. No materials, just labor, and very little of it at that thanks to templates and dynamic data/databases.
Sign-wise.. I guess it's gotta be my pre-designed graphic designs for vehicles..
Just open the file, resize it, cut it, airbrush it and collect.

Hate to say it, but vinyl letters. Pick a font, pick a color, pick a size. Don't do many, but when I make as much as $100.00 an hour on an order, I have to admit that that's a great profit margin!

Back in the old days B.C. my answer would have been banners.
These days it's pinstriping. Two colors on an 18 wheeler fairly simple, an hour to an hour and a half. Price $300. Materials, a few papertowels, a spritz or two of Rapid Prep, 1/8 oz. total of One Shot, a few drops of 6000, a little wear and tear on a Cosmos 700. $5 will cover all that and a Coke

as george and several others here have pointed out, you must find your niche in the market. i am familiar with brother george's pinstripe work and i can say it is worth every penny regardless of time spent.

My most profitable would be doing trucks for moving companies. Especially the 24 foot and 26 foot trucks. 53' trailers take too long and they will only pay so much. 10 hours to make the graphics in vinyl and apply them to a 26' truck with rivets and a couple of doors on the side, make about $1200.00, minus $150 or so for vinyl..
