Thirty-eight years ago today my high school sweetheart said that she would be a part of me for the rest of her life. Though some of the times have been rather rough she has kept that promise and has agreed to renew my license for another year.
After 38 years of marriage we have two grown sons, five grandchildren, and still have our sanity. The house and two vehicles are paid for and I'm doing what I've always wanted to do - signs. Life is good.

Congratulations to yourself and Jeanne, Raymond. My wife Louise and I are coming up to our 34th anniversary in October.
Life is pretty good when you're doing what you enjoy, with your best friend by your side. Mine also gives me the occasional kick in the posterior, when motivation is perceived to be required.
I hope that you both will continue to share many more enjoyable years together.

Well Ray, I send you both my high respect! Having done thirty four myself, I have some idea of the giving and unselfish choices and preferring others over yourself that it takes to make that happen. You have made a very good start, so remember the lessons of the past to get through those to come. God Bless You both.
PS. Can I come to Texas to celebrate your fiftieth with you?

All the best to you and your wife Ray, in this time of so many divorces, you and your wife are shining examples of how it should be. I am proud to know you. We are working on our 50th this coming May.

I remember you told me a long time ago that when you were courting Jeanne she would spend Saturday evening at your house while you painted signs on the kitchen table (I hope I got the story right!). Not an exciting Saturday night date, by today's jaded standards, but just look at the results...
Happy Anniversary you two! I hope you did something real special to celebrate!
We just celebrated Dave's folk's 40th. Dave & his sister sprang a big surprize on them by presenting them with tickets for a 7 day cruise! They were ecstatic!
Best wishes to you in your happiness together! Janette

My hubby and I are celebrating our 14th anniversary today. While we feel like we've made it over the hump, we still have many milestones ahead. It is time to start thinking about sending two kids to college, and what direction our lives are headed. I look forward to the days that our bills are all paid and we have more time to enjoy our hard work.
Couples like you, that have truly enjoyed the journey are an inspiration to the generation coming behind you.
I hope you have many more happy, healthy years together.

Thanks folks for all the nice comments. Jeanne enjoyed them too.
Yes, Peter, you got the story right. For the three years we dated in high school much of the date time was spent with Jeanne in the living room with my parents and me bent over the kitchen table. I guess it prepared her for the years to come. She still tolerates me running off the road looking at signs when we travel.
I pretty well hit the jackpot with Jeanne. If she will keep renewing my license I guess I will be around for a few more years.

Thanks Dan. So, you finally got a real computer, huh? I'm glad you came to your senses and got rid of that Mac. Do you get much of a trade in on those steam powered models?
Just yesterday I looked in on your website...great stuff.
