Can I make a suggestion to people that are posting and/or replying to a post?
PLEASE USE PARAGRAPHS!!!!
Drives me crazy trying to read something that has no spaces... just TONS of letters and lines and words... blah blah blah blah
I was just reading thru a post and with one person in particular, I ended up just skipping over his posts, because it was nothing but one huge paragraph and way too hard to read.
Just an idea...

Glad you brought that up Dana. It's very hard to read something that is just one big line of text. What is the rule on paragraphs anyway? Let's learn something today.

I don't think it is so much 'not using paragraphs'.....some replies are just too long. When they are so long.....I never read past the first line.

I had a teacher who made me stand in a wastebasket one time. I can't remember why but I don't think it was because I didn't use paragraphs. Snort!

This thread reminds me of a quote I was forced to learn in high school English. I believe it was Samual Clemments but I am not sure. The quote is " I am writing you a long letter because I do not have the time to write a short letter"
Good writing like good signs take time.

Everyone has a pet peeve on what they don't like about posting, so Dana your in charge everyone write Dana with what bothers you & she can post it. Then we all can make a print out & keep by the PC so we don't do anything that upsets anyone. Like the....dots someone doesn't like. The BOLD TEXT Some don't like. Let's add the fonts that people don't like, Brush Script comes to mind. Add to the list not to ever say you don't believe in God & accept Jesus Christ as your personal, savior, That one will get a can of Whup Ass opened up on you. Never ask anyone why they give credit. Believe you me you never want to go there. Well, these will start the list & I'm sure the rest of you will have plenty to add, so get started.

I'm glad this was just a suggestion, and not a RULE!!! I come to Letterville to be myself,NOT to be told how to write.I get that all day long from my customers.BUT...they pay me to write proper. I read what I want to read on the BB,and usally don't understand all of it any way.So what seems to be the promblem?

Geeesh... see if I ever try to make a suggestion for things to be easier.
I didn't mean that it should be proper punctuation or anything, just put a space every few lines or so!!
Just breaks it up and makes it easier to read, thats all. Otherwise, when some of you guys ramble on and on and on and on, I betcha half the people don't read the whole post when its in one big paragraph with no spaces.
Thats all... sorry.

You did good Dana. As business people we all need to write reports from time to time. Anytime we can learn something that improves our business and/or signmaking skills, Letterville is doing it's job. Thanks for taking the time.

I think we forget what Letterville is from time to time. This is our on-line version of a Letterhead meet.
As Letterheads, we are here to improve our signmaking and business skills together. Many of us make signs all week for money, yet love to demonstrate our skills at live meets.
In order to learn, we have to be open to change. It can be a little tough on the ego to have our layout and business weakness pointed out, but that is the way we learn.
By now, many of you have attended your first Letterhead meet or are about to. You need to feel secure in asking questions and making suggestions without fear of ridicule or rejection. If we are really serious about this Letterhead stuff, we have to stop being so defensive and open our minds and hearts to change.
Now if the person sharing their know how is not doing, or does not have what you want to do or have, just say thank-you and move on. In this case Dana knows what she is talking about and is willing to share that with us. Isn't that what it is all about?
