thought id throw this up here...along with marty's mold making post....any of ya do this? works great for metal casting...and can be done on large scale if neccesary if my memeory serves me right the italian artist who cast the bronze life size statues of horses did this.....

wax models of charms and emblems are hot waxed to a "tree" which is set into a liquid vestment, then the vestment is fired to harden it (like ceramics) and at the same time the heat is high enough the wax just vaporizes, leaving a perfect cavity to cast the gold and silver.

wasnt divinci...this guy was before him...i want to carvagio..or somethin similar...but he did the casting and when they were pouring the metal he sliped and fell in to it...never saw his finished work
