Along comes a job for a sign painter. Nobody else can do it... Im helpin a guy restore a 33 Harley...tonight I outlined 1/2" letters!!!!With a paint brush!!!!! Member that? I used ta would make outliners outa "used brushes"....then...I got right up ther with the high rollers....so's I could buy "new" brushes and trim em back.... I like longer .....for outlining..... Short ,fat..for shades.. Etc...... Any way..I outlined the lil letters with a brannew brush....trimmed..... I cut off nearly 1/2 of it...the outside guard hairs..huh This one's a shedder...... Every once in a while... a shedder!!!!! The job looks good....however .the brush will prolly end up as a stir stick....!!!!! Art work for the job came from "Airbrush Bobby"...Thanks... Imitation gold......for size.... dust with bronze powder as soon as this post gits over....Killin time ...till the "gild" If we lived in 1933....would life actually be seen in black n white?

So that is what Mark Fair looks like, it is about time after all the good and funny posts. We old timers of the brush have to feel sad about the vinyl taking over and cutting down on our fun time of creativity. Vinyl is the quick and easy way out, but didn't we enjoy doing what we were trained to do? Letterheads, Walldogs and Pinheads are all hanging on to the craft, but just look at the sign magazines. They are showing us who is taking over the industry, it is the computer generation.

Mark's pic surprised me too! He has a LOT more hair than I had mentally pictured!
I'm proud to say that my two children are, at this moment, finishing a 7'x18', three color, double sided hand painted logo for Swank Enterprises on their new 40' trailer on the jobsite. They were lucky this time. This one is parked on asphalt and they have Swank's scissor-lift at their disposal. Despite their being responsible for the vinyl film part of the operation, they're also both adept at swingin' a brush. Cool schtuff, eh? The art won't die anytime soon with the St.Maries.

Did I read something between the lines here? Is there a mini meet at Michael's in October about brushes? Sounds very interesting. I am taking my paint box with me when I go camping soon.
Hey Michael, Do you make your own brushes from those deer, skunk and turkeys?
