Hi everybody!
Sorry I've been away so long. Was waiting to get my &%$#*@!!IVB fixed, and was all backed up.
Justis started kindergarten today (sigh) That means I have a senior, an 8th grader, and a K. I feel so old!
Last week, I finally got to meet with the Mars Area Chamber of Commerce. They approved the meet- now we just have to bring it before the Mars Boro Council on Sept. 18.
I was given the tentative date of August 22-24 2002. They want to tie it into a big community day, crafts, car cruise, etc. Folks are all hepped up about it. So am I!
Folks, I'm gonna need all the help I can get, so if anyone's interested in helping, offering advice or suggestions, etc., please call me at (724) 586-6923. I think the website for Mars is www.marschamber.com, if anyone wants to check it out.
TTFN- gotta get busy. Love- JILL

PROJECTS to do,and more Projects to do.
There is nothing a letterhead loves to do than to close up shop, travel out of town, meet with other letterheads, and do PROJECTS together.

I know that there are many Letterheads reading this BB that have hosted meets in the past. Organizing an International is a huge task, requiring a dedicated team of helpers. If you have any tips that can assist Jill please post them here or contact her.

What sort of meet do you have in mind Jill? Will it be similar to the recent meet in Milwaukee or are you thinking of a WallDog meet? If next August is anything like this years, you will want to look for a venue that has air conditioning.

Letterville is here to assist in anyway we can. Take a lesson from Pat King on how to use this BB to spread the word and build excitement. You dream big Jill. Keep us posted on your progress.

Yo Jillbeans,
Let me know if you need easels. We built 75 of them if you can find a way to get them to Mars ,it save you a ton of work. And for a logo may I suggest the man in the hazmat suit. Hope you had a good time. I had a good time and was nice to talk to you in person.
Being part of the staff you don't seem to have any time for all the demos. So in Mars
we'll have time for all that good stuff.I wish you good luck and sucess on your meet.

Steve, why would people in Milwaukee resent Letterheads? Just because a bunch of 'em went there reCently? Ha. Ha.

Mars, hm? I thought most of us were from around there, but didn't realize it was so close...
Actually back in the '30s Burma Shave ran a phony contest on their board signs claiming whoever turned in a certain number of empty Burma Shave jars would win a "trip to Mars". I think the number was 1,000, figuring nobody would ever collect that many. Well, a fellow DID run a giant campaign in his town and got all the jars just to see what they'd do - Truth In Advertising, etc. So, they looked in the Atlas and found a city somewhere named Mars and sent the guy there. Probably served the both of them right.

Jill, I'm so excited that there's going to be an event in PA. I really want to head for Massachusetts but there is no time. We're so busy that we haven't even had time to build our own new sign for the shop. The old sign with the previous name is still up. I'm some distance away but will try to help you if I can. Thanks for doing this.

Beanie Baby!!

Was great to see ya again in Milwaukee (or should I say Waukesha...)--yer hair was so hot pink I hadda wear a Haz-Mat suit!!

As far as going to Mars; what a great theme opportunity!! A lot of fun can be had with that, so please, please, please let me do yer logo or t-shirt design or SOMETHING!!

People have always said I must be from another planet, so maybe that qualifies me for the job?

Yer Pal Bill---closer to Mars than you think
