Hi Everybody, I've got a project in the works for a product that I'm going to produce. it involves Kovatex ( spelling? ) anyway, its a PVC board thats 6 mil. thick. I'm hand doing the first two original prototypes and will be looking for someone to silk screen (2 sided)the ones we produce. I want to have whomever silkscreens the blanks to be able to computer router the forms after they've been screened. Now, my question is have any of you guys done anything like this before and roughly what kind of costs are involved? as far as how many pieces would be involved would depend on the cost. but if this thing takes off like it should, it could run into the many thousands of units.
also, does anybody know anything about having something produces overseas?
thank you in advance for whatever info you have! Mike

Hey Mike, I just did a job that was router cut then I applied scotchprint to the face . it came out pretty sharp, but i was thinking a few could be done this way. I don't know the size but if they are small you could get a bunch on a sheet I do have a contact for the router work but they don't screen print. let me know if you need there #

Hello Mike - I would recommend that you cut first and print last, otherwise there are issues of registration and also of scratching up the faces, since one side will be face down on the router table. Also, if something happens and piece is lost, you have not lost the screenprinting.
anchorblanks can rout darned near anything and we have the portfolio to prove it. We also work with more than one screenprinter and may be able to help you there also. Routing and Edging described above is also a good option, depending on the job. Our retail arm Bob Loves Signs has sold router cut/screenprinted/Edged POS displays that add up into the thousands. Our preference would be to do the blanks and ship them to you for finishing.
We cut from 4x8 sheets and stack the objects to maximize material use. The pricing you see at www.anchorblanks.com is quantity one, and obviously you will get a better price for large quantities.
Send us an email if you would like to pursue . Vic G

Thanks guys for the info. It'll come in handy when I get to that point. Mike
