I have a used gerber 4b with 8 fonts and the layout A cartridge/module. Two pens, two blades, all the weights. No manual though. Anybody have an idea what it is worth and if there is still any interest in them.

Why do you want to sell it Rob?. I still often use my 4A that I purchased in 1985. I don't think you would get much for it, but you can get a cadlink fastboard which will allow you to run it from your present system. It is still the best plotter for cutting reflective or making pounce patterns.

That would be my question also. For the same reasons. There is a company in Florida that re-works and re-sells Gerber Plotters. There ad can be found in the back of Sign Craft Magazine. You might be able to find out that way.Good Luck Hope this helps.

What's it worth to you to have a plotter that can cut letters and symbols when the computers go down? It has happened to me and I used it with my helvetica bold to get a lot of my work done. A godsend. I always think about trading it in for a different plotter, but it has saved me for many a time in a crunch. I won't give it up since I won't get much for it anyway and it has been a "loyal" supporter of my biz!

One of the local sign shops here is still using it. All his other software is state of the art. As a one man shop, it plots faster than he can weed tape and apply.
I'd say it's worth $120/per shop hour since that is his rate.

My old 4B is 14 years old and still contour cuts Gerber Edge prints for me. I'll keep it till it can't run, then hang it on the wall as some kind of tribute to changing times.
Sure beats buying a $10,000 plotter if you don't need the speed. Yes, we do have a Gerber Odyssey (48" cutting at 36 inches per second, but it wont contour cut Edge printed stickers ver great accuracy.)
Anyone buying a Gerber Edge has to buy a plotter, and a used 4B or a Sprint is a hot item for these ones to get going in the ditital world.
